This Week Ahead: Super DIRTcar Series Gets Set for a Lucrative Holiday Weekend
The series heads to Lebanon Valley and Weedsport

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – Aug. 28, 2016 – The Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds will be back in action this week as they head to Lebanon Valley Speedway on Thursday, Sept. 1 paying a hefty $17,500 to the winner and to Weedsport Speedway on Monday, Sept. 5 paying $7,500 to the winner for a lucrative Labor Day weekend.

“We are all looking forward to a very big Labor Day weekend starting off with the prestigious Mr. Dirt Track USA race at Howie Commander’s Lebanon Valley Speedway and ending at a MAVTV televised event at one of the nicest tracks in the country, Weedsport Speedway,” said Mike Perrotte, DIRTcar North East Series Director.

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – Aug. 21, 2016 – Matt Sheppard and Stewart Friesen are leading the way in the championship standings but it’s the “Franklin Flyer” Billy Decker who is currently sitting third in points hoping to gain ground heading into September.

Tomkins Makes Last Lap Stunner at Weedsport

Captures his first Super DIRTcar Series victory since 2008

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – Aug. 9, 2016 – Just when everyone thought the race was over it was Gary Tomkins who made a last lap pass over Erick Rudolph to capture the Super DIRTcar Series Hall of Fame 100 at Weedsport Speedway and take home the $10,000 paycheck.

“That last restart the tires didn’t feel right so I went to the bottom, got my rhythm back and caught back up to Erick,” Tomkins said in victory lane. “I stuck it into one that one time and it stuck and I thought ‘oh boy here we go.’ I thought maybe if Erick gave me room on the front stretch we could do it and he did.”

RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. – Aug 2, 2016 – Stewart Friesen keeps it in the family once again as he captured the Super DIRTcar Series Summer Nationals at Ransomville Speedway Tuesday night for the second year in a row. Friesen’s night started off on a bad note as he damaged his car in time trials and was forced to bring out his back-up car. That didn’t stop Friesen and the Halmar team from rebounding to take home the victory.

Captures fourth Bob St. Amand Sr. Memorial title

THOROLD, ONT. – Aug 1, 2016 – ‘Super’ Matt Sheppard from Waterloo, N.Y. took an early lead and never looked back at Merrittville Speedway Monday night for the Bob St. Amand Sr. Memorial 100-lap Super DIRTcar Series feature event.

“It mean’s so much what they do here. When you walk out of here you know you’re going to have a pretty good night. They worked really hard with the lap sponsors and it doesn’t go unappreciated,” Sheppard said about the effort put into the nights Bob St. Amand Sr. Memorial.
