Super DIRTcar Series: All Dirt Roads Lead to Charlotte

CONCORD, N. C. – Oct. 24, 2012 – With only two feature events left in the Super DIRTcar Series, Big-Block Modified competitors are prepping for one of the biggest dirt racing events of the year, PEAK Motor Oil World of Outlaws World Finals presented by NAPA Auto Parts at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Thursday, Nov. 1, through Saturday, Nov. 3.

Not only is PEAK Motor Oil World of Outlaws World Finals presented by NAPA Auto Parts one of only three events that hosts the three premier dirt track series, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, and the Super DIRTcar Series, but it is the last event of the season for all three. MIDDLETOWN, N. Y. – Oct. 22, 2012 – With another big Super DIRTcar Series win, Brett Hearn is on a roll.

This year’s VP Small Engine Fuels 200 champion took the fast time Saturday during qualifying events at Orange County Fair Speedway, locking in the top starting position for Sunday’s Eastern States 200. MIDDLETOWN, N. Y. – Oct. 16, 2012 – Just coming off NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI, the Big-Block Modifieds of the Super DIRTcar Series head south for another historic event, the 51st Annual Eastern States Weekend presented by Arkel Motors at Orange County Fair Speedway.

Eastern States Weekend, an action-packed three days of racing set for Friday, Oct. 19, through Sunday, Oct. 21, hosts the Super DIRTcar Series for the weekend’s finale, the 51st Annual Eastern States 200 Modified Championship race on Sunday, Oct. 21.

For this year’s winner of VP Small Engine Fuels 200 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, Brett Hearn, the long-running Eastern States 200 brings back childhood memories.

“As a kid, I grew up sitting in the stands at 11 and 12 years old and watching the Eastern States 200,” said Hearn, of Vernon, N. J., whose shop is located just 30 minutes from the speedway in Middletown. “It’s got a lot of history, a lot of prestige. I remember going there before I ever drove a stock car, sitting in the stands during the Eastern States races.”

Triumph For Decker Keeps Him Perfect During NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI

SYRACUSE, NY – Oct. 5, 2012 – By Kevin Kovac/DIRTcar Racing P.R. – Billy Decker of Unadilla, N.Y., Bobby Varin of Sharon Springs, N.Y., and Billy Dunn of Watertown, N.Y., registered victories in Friday night’s DIRTcar big-block Modified Triple 20-lap heat races for the VP Small Engine Fuels 200 at the New York State Fairgrounds.

The three big-block events capped a long day of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI competition at the Syracuse Mile, which an evening heat-race program for the second consecutive year.

American, Canadian, Australian to lead VP Small Engine Fuels 200 to Green Flag on Sunday at the ‘Moody Mile’

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Oct. 4, 2012 – Billy Decker captured the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified VP Small Engine Fuels 200 pole award for the fifth time in his career on Thursday afternoon at the New York State Fairgrounds during NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week.

Decker, of Unidilla, N.Y., was one of the final competitors to qualify in a field of 65 cars, and he surged to the top of the charts with a stunning lap around the Moody Mile in 32.997 seconds.

David Hebert, of St. Damase, Quebec, and Peter Britten, of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, were second and third quickest, marking the first time in the 41-year history of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week that an American, Canadian and Australian will occupy the top three starting positions in Sunday’s VP Small Engine Fuels 200.

Seven-time Super DIRTcar Series champion Brett Hearn, of Sussex, N.J., Bobby Varin, of Johnstown, N.Y., and Gary Tomkins, of Clifton Springs, N.Y., rounded out top six qualifiers, all of whom are locked into the top six starting positions for Sunday’s VP Small Engine Fuels 200.

Gates Open Wednesday at NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week 

Teams present cars to officials during early inspection as anticipation builds

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Oct. 2, 2012 – NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week will come to life Wednesday morning when hundreds of campers caravan into the New York State Fairgrounds, but first on Tuesday more than 110 cars rolled through early inspection to get a jump on the biggest race week of the year.

Campers will begin moving into the fairgrounds at 8 a.m., then by 3 p.m. DIRTcar Modifieds will roar onto the Moody Mile for their first practice session of the 41st running of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week.
