Canandaigua, NY – Thursday, July 4 – On lap ninety-nine out of one hundred Max McLaughlin and Erick Rudolph swapped the lead and made heavy contact in the final corner coming to the checkered flag. A few laps before that Matt Sheppard made a stunning three-wide move going into turn three to get into a podium position. As it turned out, that was the winning move. Billy Dunn crossed the finish line in second place after spending a majority of the race battling wheel-to-wheel in the top 3. In third place, outside pole sitter Just Wright kept his nose clean and finished an impressive third place.
