Rain & Cold Force Delay Of ‘Race Mania 5’ Friday At Autodrome Drummond

DRM20Dream20Weekend2009_WEB

Drummondville, QUESeptember 18, 2009 – By Tom Skibinski, Super DIRTcar Series PR Director

The combination of morning rain, heavy winds and unseasonably cold temperatures forecast throughout the evening convinced track officials to throw in the towel early on Friday, postponing the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified portion of ‘Dream Weekend Race Mania 5’ at Autodrome Drummond to Sunday, Sept. 20.

Already rescheduled when rain saturated the storied Drummondville oval in July, Sunday’s $6,000-to-win 100-lapper stands as the final leg of the 2009 Great Canadian Tour. Current overall Hoosier Tire-VP Racing Fuels Mr. DIRT points leader Brett Hearn (Brockville), defending Mr. DIRTcar Champion Billy Decker (Granby) and ’08 Mr. DIRTcar runner-up Jimmy Phelps (Cornwall) captured the opening three rounds.

The Mr. DIRTcar 358-Modified Championship Series takes center stage at Drummond Saturday, Sept. 19 with top Small-Block teams in the Northeast chasing a $10,000 grand-prize in the 150-lap main event.
