Weedsport, NYJuly 17, 2009 — By Tom Skibinski, Super DIRTcar Series PR Director

Late afternoon rain Friday and the forecast of further precipitation in the evening forced track officials to cancel all speedway activity scheduled on opening day of DIRTcar All-Star Weekend at the Cayuga County Fairgrounds.

The Parts Plus Big Six Street Stock Series event has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 18, the Pure Stock program has been added to the Sunday card, with a new date for the CRSA 305 Sprint Car special still to be determined.

Including a complete Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series points program and DIRTcar Pro Late Model debut at The Port, the Saturday program is highlighted by a $3,000-to-win, 50-lap Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series preliminary event, with all Big-Block qualifiers also contending in a unique ‘Exemption Dash’ offering a full purse. The weekend culminates Sunday with an Xcel 600 Modified Series special leading into the first-ever ‘All-Star 100’ that boasts a whopping $20,000 on top and $1,000 to take the green.
