Penalty Report

CONCORD, N.C. — July 3, 2017 — World Racing Group has announced penalties in DIRTcar Racing. Per the rulebooks and the integrity of the sport, such infractions shall be announced. Members in good standing have the right to appeal the decision to the World Racing Group Appeals Commission as provided in Section 12 of the General Rules and Specifications.

Matt Sheppard, driver of the No. 9s in the Super DIRTcar Series has violated section 2.2 / 11.1-M,N,P of the 2017 DIRTcar Racing Rule Book.

Section 2 – Membership

2.2 Conduct

A.) General – All Members agree to act in a professional manner as determined by World Racing Group Officials. The professional manner includes, but is not limited to verbal representation, written representation, any representation that may represent the World Racing Group, the DIRTcar Northeast and/or Super DIRTcar Series, the sport of DIRTcar Northeast and/or Super DIRTcar Series racing and/or motorsports in general and/or any affiliates

11.1 Penalties and Fine Schedules

M. Any member that goes into another competitors pit area or to another competitors car and becomes involved in any type of altercation will be subject to disqualification and/or fine and/or suspension and/or loss of points and/or any other action deemed appropriate by Super DIRTcar Series and/or DIRTcar Officials and/or World Racing Group Supervisory Officials.; Maximum = $5,000.

N. Any member involved in an altercation that results in physical contact will be subject to disqualification and/or fine and/or suspension and/or loss of points and/or any other action deemed appropriate by Super DIRTcar Series and/or DIRTcar Officials and/or World Racing Group Supervisory Officials. Minimum = $50; Maximum = $5,000.

P. Any team member who goes out onto the racing surface without permission under a controlled period will be subject to disqualification and/or fine and/or suspension and/or loss of points and/or being placed to the rear of the field and/or any other action deemed appropriate by Super DIRTcar Series and/or DIRTcar Officials and/or World Racing Group Supervisory Officials.; Maximum = $5,000

Sheppard has been fined $1,000, loss of championship points and monies earned from the Super DIRTcar Series event at Utica-Rome Speedway on July 2, 2017, suspended from all DIRTcar Racing weekly-sanctioned events for seven (7) consecutive days (July 3, 2017 – July 10, 2017) and the next two scheduled and completed Super DIRTcar Series events.

Larry Wight, driver of the No. 99L in the Super DIRTcar Series has violated section 2.2, 11.1-L of the 2017 DIRTcar Racing rulebook.

Larry Wight (driver of 99L) and the 99L team are on probation for 90 days starting July 6 ending October 4, 2017.
