After making their Australian debut in late September, the JBR Motorsport Troyer V8 Dirt Modifieds of Simon Jupe & Peter Britten have certainly turned heads. The newly imported race cars have surprised many with their early-season pace, a promising sign given the team is just five race meetings into their season 2008/09 campaign.

“The Troyer cars have been awesome straight out of the box,” said JBR Motorsport driver Simon Jupe. “The baseline set-up that the guys at Troyer have provided to us along with the setup support network that they provide us is amazing, and has allowed us to dial the cars in straight away rather than having to learn them first.”

After some solid performances in their first few outings, it was JBR Motorsport’s Peter Britten who scored Troyer’s maiden Feature in outside of North America with victory at the Brisbane International Speedway on November 15.

“Very, very relieving,” said Britten of his recent success. “To come so close a couple of weeks before and not be able to pull it off was pretty devastating. It’s more a relief than anything just to get it out of the way and hopefully clear the path to get a fair few more.”

“Set-up wise we’ve gone pretty much anti clockwise on everything!“ revealed Britten. “We’ve changed torsion bars, shocks, diff offset, just fiddled around with everything basically. Bill (Colton, Troyer Owner based in Rochester, New York) was good with that, we showed him what we were doing, he gave us a whole new set-up to try and it worked.”

After an unexpected podium finish (third) on debut, Simon Jupe is more than happy with the progress of the JBR Motorsport Troyer cars so far this season.

“I know both Peter and I driving the factory cars have had a great start to the season, which can be shown in our results over the first 5 meetings. Besides the DNF (engine) in Avalon (Summer Slam Rd 1) a couple of weeks ago I have not finished a feature outside the top-5, and Pete has also had an awesome start and managed to pick up the first Feature event win for the team recently in Brisbane.”

“Tony Sneddon (Singleton, NSW) is the only other driver currently running a new Troyer chassis and although he has had only one meeting so far this season, the feedback we have had is that he is really happy with the car. He managed to win a heat race in Avalon in only his second time on the track with the car, which once again proves these cars along with the set-up support we have had are quick!”

This weekend the JBR Motorsport Troyers will be in action at the Brisbane International Speedway followed by a well deserved pre-Christmas break.
