Super DIRTcar Series Ransomville Feature postponed to Thursday evening

With heavy rain arriving at Ransomville Speedway just before the start of Wednesday’s Super DIRTcar Series Feature, the Summer Nationals 75-lap event was postponed to Thursday, Aug. 25.

Gates will open at 6pm (ET) with Hot Lap starting at 7:30pm and the Super DIRTcar Series Feature projected to start at 8pm – followed by the DIRTcar Sportsman Feature.

Mother Nature held off long enough for Heat Races and the redraw to be completed. Stewart Friesen won a hard-fought battle with Matt Sheppard to take the win in the first Heat Race. Then, Ransomville-native Erick Rudolph held off the competition to claim Heat #2. In Heat #3, Mat Williamson took the victory, continuing his momentum gain from last week’s SummerFAST events. Finally, Chad Brachmann closed out the Heat Race action by winning Heat #4.

Pete Bicknell, Alex Payne, JF Corriveau and Allan Willis were able to transfer into the Feature through the Last Chance Showdowns.

The redraw set up the potential for a new winner this season. On the front row are two drivers looking for their first Series win since February and first points-paying win since last year. Williamson – the currently 358 Modified points leader at Ransomville – will start from the pole with Peter Britten to his outside.

Behind them, Billy Decker, starting third, is on the hunt for his first Series win since 2019 and Gary Lindberg, starting fourth, is looking for his first ever Super DIRTcar Series win.

However, in the third row is three-time Series Ransomville winner Stewart Friesen, in fifth, and Matt Sheppard, the most recent Series winner at Ransomville in sixth.

Below is the starting lineup for Thursday’s Feature:
