Mohawk Modifieds set for Super DIRT Series invasion

Matt Sheppard going for 3rd straight Mohawk International Raceway win

Hogansburg, N.Y. – July 6, 2015 – The Super DIRTcar Series moves to Mohawk-International Raceway in Hogansburg, N.Y. Thursday, July 9 for the Mohawk 100, a Big-Block Modified event with a $30,000 purse paying $6,000-to-win.

Current Super DIRTcar point leader Matt Sheppard is glad to see Mohawk come up on the schedule. Sheppard has won the last two Series events at Mohawk, but he will meet with stiff opposition from regulars Billy Dunn – the defending track champion and a series regular who is 5th in the SDS standings, Tim Fuller – a two-time feature winner at Mohawk this season, Carey Terrance, Tom Conklin and Jordan McCreadie.

Jimmy Phelps of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Sheppard’s HBR Racing teammate with three Super DIRTcar wins at Mohawk on his resume will also be hand, joined by the likes of Danny Johnson, Brett Hearn, Stewart Friesen, Larry Wight and Peter “Batman” Britten.

Big-Block Modified time trials begin at 7 p.m. Post time is 7:30 p.m. Admission is adults/$30, kids 16 & under/$8.

After the Mohawk 100, the next Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified event is at Five Mile Point Speedway, Tuesday, July 14.
