Sheppard Unveils New Big-Block Paint Scheme

sheppardnewcar

The “new deal” for Matt Sheppard is about to begin. In fact, it will all get underway on Saturday, March 22 at Hagerstown Speedway with the opening event of the 2008 Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series.

The newly formed team of Matt Sheppard and Jeff Brownell invite everyone to visit their website to take a look at the new car, colors and number that this team will sport in 2008. Please visit www.matt-sheppard.com and take a look under News.

Hagerstown is a favorite stop for the twenty-five year old driver out of Waterloo, New York. Back in 2004, at the age of twenty-one, Sheppard invaded the Maryland oval and won not only the Big-Block Modified main event but the Small-Block feature as well, making it a two race, same day sweep.

Sheppard and car owner Jeff Brownell enjoy a long time friendship and their excitement is at an all-time high as well. Some very familiar sponsors will be displayed on the new #9s that will be associated with this team. BPG/Chad Sinon Motorsports is a new affiliation with Sheppard and Brownell, but one of long lasting respect for being associated with winning race teams. Other sponsorship support for the Finger Lakes Auto Machine-powered Bicknell Chassis Modified include Magee Transportation, Seneca Auto Sales & Service, Bicknell Racing Products and Integra Racing Shocks. Jeff Brownell will field a two-car team with Sheppard behind the wheel as well as his son, Jeff Brownell Jr.

“The team is coming together with the help of so many including my Dad, Chad Sinon, Dave Rauscher, Randy Williamson and Scott Keyser,” commented Sheppard. “It’s just amazing what can happen in just three or four weeks.”

The season did get underway in February for Sheppard, driving the Randy Ross #44 in Florida at Volusia Speedway Park. In four starts, Sheppard rattled off four top-10 finishes, starting deep in the field for each feature.

“I would have liked to win one more for Randy (Ross, owner) in Florida, but overall, I think we ended in style. The four top-10 finishes along with eight wins and the New Egypt Championship in 2007, was just a memorable time of my career,” Sheppard added.

Sheppard and Brownell are all set for Hagerstown on Saturday and what will follow? Weekly stops at the Brewerton, Canandaigua and Cayuga County Fair speedways in New York along with a full force assault on the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series throughout the Northeast.
