Due to heavy persistent rain that entered the Middletown, NY area Sunday evening, Super DIRTcar Series and Orange County Fair Speedway officials have agreed to postponed the remaining portion of the Battle at the Fairgrounds.
Officials will get together during the week to decide on a potential reschedule date.
Before the rain fell, Peter Britten, Billy Decker, Larry Wight, Brett Hearn, Dan Creeden and Matt Sheppard each claimed the top spot in their respective Heat Races.
The six winners went to the redraw with Larry Wight – who also set Quick Time in Low-E Insulation Qualifying – continuing to have a perfect night by drawing the pole for the Feature and claiming the $100 SRI Performance/Stock Car Steel Award. Sheppard will start second, Decker third, Hearn fourth, Creeden fifth and Britten sixth.
Also joining in the Feature will be Jimmy Phelps, Craig Mitchell, Chris Hile, Ronnie Davis III, Jack Lehner, Tyler Jashembowski, Tanner VanDoren, Marc Johnson, Tyler Boniface, Anthony Perrego, Stewart Friesen and Mike Mahaney.
When the program resumes, a Last Chance Showdown will need be run and the 75-lap, $7,500-to-win Battle for the Fairgrounds Feature.
