The 11th Annual Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series TRAFFIC JAM for Big-Block Modifieds returns to the Grandview Speedway on Wednesday, July 16 as the Thunder on the Hill Racing Series continues to climb high in 2008.

A perrenial a crowd pleaser, the 100-lap TRAFFIC JAM always provides non-stop, edge-of-your-seat excitement. And it all gets underway at 7:30 PM with Integra Shocks Time Trials followed by qualifying heats that lead up to the big $6,000-to-win feature race finale.

Of special interest especially to the local Berks County race fans is that Kenny Brightbill of Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania will be in the field. Best known for his success at the Reading (Pa.) Fairgrounds, Brightbill carried his success to tracks like Flemington, Bridgeport, East Windsor, New Egypt, Nazareth, Orange County and Delaware International, and is a past winner at Super DIRT Week in Syracuse — the most prestigious race in the country for Big-Block Modifieds.

Brightbill will be at Grandview on Wednesday but not in his familiar 19 machine. Instead, the popular ‘Shillington Slingshot’ will be driving a power-house team car for owner Chad Sinon of BPG Racing.

“We chose Kenny because he is one of the true legends in our sport and it would not be right for him to miss out on Grandview,” commented Sinon from Blue Bell, Pa. Sinon fields only the finest equipment and although he’ll be pulling for his weekly driver Duane Howard of Oley, Pa., he would like nothing more then to see Brightbill park his back-up no. 4 BPG Modified in Grandview’s victory lane.

Brightbill will be joining an all-star cast of drivers shooting for some extra pocket money as Lap 20 will be worth $200 to the leader courtesy of Fitzpatrick Lentz & Budda, P.C., a Lehigh Valley law firm that will be celebrating its 20th year in business. COMDIAL Telephone Communications has also posted $200 for the driver who sets fast time during the night.

The DIRTcar TRAFFIC JAM is also part of the Fan Fun Nights, coordinated between Grandview, New Egypt and Bridgeport speedways. Fans will receive a $2 discount on an adult admission ticket if they are wearing a Thunder on the Hill, Grandview, Bridgeport or New Egypt Speedway t-shirt. So represent your favorite track and come on out to Grandview!

Just to make the fans feel even more at home, New Egypt P.A. Announcer Nick Leach and Bill Sasser from Bridgeport will join Jeff Alhum at Grandview to entice the fans into an all-out cheering competition.

In addition, there will be contests, fan give-away items, the Inside/Out Promotion plus one lucky fan will get to waive the first green flag of the night. FanFest will also take place, with an open invitation extended to all children accompanied by an adult to join together on the homestretch for the call of the starting line-up to get the 11th Annual Big Block Modified TRAFFIC JAM underway.

And don’t forget. . . the always exciting Garden State Vintage Stocks Cars will offer a fine display as well as an exhibition display on Wednesday, July 16 as part of the TRAFFIC JAM program.
