DIRTcar Racing Community Mourns Passing Of Anne Tremont

West Sand Lake,NYMarch 11, 2008 – Anne E. Malone Tremont, 68, mother of DIRTcar Racing Modified standout Kenny Tremont from West Sand Lake, New York, passed away the morning of Monday, March 10 at 8:45 am at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late James Malone and Thelma (Ashton) Malone and wife for 50 years of Kenneth E. Tremont Sr.

She was raised on Desson Avenue in Troy where she resided for many years. She lived in West Sand Lake since 1957 and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, class of 1957.

Mrs. Tremont was employed many years ago at Woolworth’s in Troy, was an assistant librarian at the RPI library, was employed at the Legislative Index in Albany and was employed at Micki’s Bridal Shop in West Sand Lake. In addition, she worked as a bookkeeper for her husband for many years.

Anne loved auto racing and was her son Ken Tremont’s (#115) number 1 fan and always enjoyed seeing him win.

Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Kathleen (Richard Wright) Tremont of West Sand Lake and Kimberly (Brian) Berger of Castleton; her son, Kenneth E. (Kathleen) Tremont Jr. of West Sand Lake, NY; her siblings, Patrick (Elaine) Malone of Conyers, GA, Jean Letzelter of Bonita Springs, FL and Terrence (Christina) Malone of Albany; her grandchildren, Sheena Rote, Devon Wright, Audrey Procopio, Kassidy Berger, Karsyn Berger, Ryan Tremaine, Mason Brown, Kenneth J. Tremont, Kale Tremont, Montgomery and Samantha Tremont and the late Olivia Angel Grace Tremont; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Tremont of West Sand Lake and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis Tremont of Averill Park and Jacqueline (Brian Bradley) Tremont of Averill Park.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 9:00 AM at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4392 Route150 West Sand Lake and at 9:30 AM at St. Henry’s Church in Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Provost, Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment St. Henry’s Cemetery, in Averill Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Anne Tremont to the Olivia Angel Grace Tremont Endowment Fund at Albany Medical Center Foundation 43 New Scotland Avenue Albany, NY 12208.
