Brett Hearn Presents Big Show II At OCFS In June

Weedsport, NYDecember 11, 2009 – By Tom Skibinski, Super DIRTcar Series PR Director

Simply and suitably billed as the ‘Big Show’ last season, Brett Hearn’s inaugural promotion at Orange County Fair Speedway turned out to be the biggest of the year at the Middletown, N.Y. oval.

Hearn is anxious to get back on the ‘Hard Clay’ next June as the recently crowned overall Hoosier Tire-VP Racing Fuels Mr. DIRTcar Champion promises an even bigger and better event for the fans and racers that come out in support.

“It was pretty good last time considering the weather and fire,” quipped Hearn, 51, referring to his first presentation backed by Benjamin Moore Paint and Mohegan Sun that was ultimately cut short due to rain with Billy Decker taking the checkered flag after just 59 laps. An in-season series best 62 drivers signed up despite inclement weather juggling area forecasts throughout the day, while a small generator fire forced fans to evacuate the turn four grandstands even before heat races could be run.

“We’re still in the planning stages right now although we’ll try to mirror much of what we did last year, there was definitely a lot of excitement leading up to the event. Expect some extracurricular entertainment to go along with a lot of great racing, all of which is sure to make it another memorable event for fans both on and off the track,” remarked Hearn, who will be flanked once again by Driven Marketing Group production partners Rich Wordon (marketing) and Tom Genova (financial advisor) for the June 16 event.

In addition to a full night of Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified racing including time trials, qualifying heat races and a 100-lap feature, Hearn also confirmed the return of a B-main for non-qualified cars that provides the winner a chance to choose between the $2,000 prize money or the 13th starting slot in the ‘Big Show.’ He also reserved June 30 as a rain date if necessary.

Further event information will be available after the new year, when media representatives can contact Brett Hearn (973/702-0819) during normal business hours Monday through Friday. In the meantime, log into www.bretthearn.com for the latest Jet news regarding the upcoming season.

The 31st edition of the Super DIRTcar Series gets underway with the first points event scheduled at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway on Saturday, March 27, 2010.

Big-Block Modified action kicks off down south even earlier when Volusia Speedway Park hosts four non-point series shows during the 39th Annual Florida DIRTcar Nationals By UNOH, Feb. 10-13. With Feb. 9 set aside for practice, consecutive 30-lap main events run Wednesday through Friday before the traditional $5,000-to-win 50-lapper goes off the line in Saturday’s VSP finale.
