Bad luck can sometimes turn into good fortune, especially at Super DIRT Week in Syracuse when the “Hard Luck” Award means a weekend for two in Atlantic City, NJ courtesy of Area Auto Racing News. The “Hard Luck” Award winner, chosen by members of Area Auto Racing News on hand covering the events, will receive a deluxe weekend in the gambling town on January 16-17, 2009 to attend the huge weekend featuring the 24th annual Motorsports show by day and live Indoor Race at night.

The plush Atlantic City Convention Center is the home of the Motorsports show by day with over 250,000 square feet of nothing but auto racing presented. At night the roar of the engines fill Boardwalk Hall, located just four blocks from the convention center. Three-Quarter Midgets and 600cc Micro-Sprints are the headline division with many top northeast stars from many different divisions competing.

The 2008 SDW Big-block Hard Luck Award winner will receive two tickets and pit passes to both events along with two nights (Fri-Sat) luxury hotel accommodations at the Atlantic City Sheraton which is attached to the Convention Center, plus $200 in spending money.

This special prize package will be given to the driver suffering the worst luck attempting to qualifying for the 37th Rite Aid 200 Championship for Advance Auto Parts Big-Block Modifieds as determined by the Area Auto staff members in attendance. Last year’s winner of the AARN Hard Luck Award was Matt Sheppard.

Area Auto Racing News will once again have a special tent set up on the infield tunnel road where fans can pick-up a free copy of the current edition with many special Super DIRT Week stories inside. A special subscription price will be offered at the tent with a free t-shirt given as a bonus to those that sign up at the event. The lovely Ms. Motorsports 2008, Tiffany Skias, will attend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to greet fans and sign autographs. On Saturday at 12:30 at the tent, she’ll participate in an annual Super DIRT Week tradition where the current Ms. Motosports poses with a race car in a bikini! It’s a don’t miss event, with or without your camera.
