Weedsport, NY — January 20, 2009 – By Tom Skibinski, DIRTcar Racing Northeast PR Director
The official start to DIRTcar Racing’s 34th season is just weeks away with the Alltel DIRTcar Nationals By UNOH at Volusia Speedway Park kicking off the ‘09 campaign in February.
Racers and team members preparing for the trip south are reminded that a valid 2009 DIRTcar License is required for competition at VSP, with an official membership obtained on-line or by contacting either the DIRTcar Northeast office in Weedsport, New York or World Racing Group headquarters in Concord, North Carolina. Member packets, including DIRTcar license, will be available for pick up at Volusia for racers and team members who have already mailed in the 2009 Membership Application to the DIRTcar office.
For teams logging into www.dirtcar.com, select the “Join DIRTcar” button top right, click on the DIRTcar Member logo and just follow the instructions provided.
DIRTcar officials will also be conveniently stationed at Volusia Speedway Park during the season-opening DIRTcar Nationals, February 3-14, while the DIRTcar Northeast office continues to accept completed license applications on a walk-in basis. The Membership Department will make every effort to complete the process within a week of an application being approved.
Benefits of a DIRTcar Racing Membership in 2009 include: automatic eligibility to earn bonus points and share in major series point fund awards (July 1 deadline), instant $50,000 insurance coverage, receipt of a free DIRTcar rulebook and up-to-date correspondence provided an active e-mail address is submitted. In addition, drivers receive considerable media coverage from national, regional and local newspapers, as well as magazines, trade papers, radio and television.
A DIRTcar NE Membership can be purchased in U.S. funds for $125 (Big-Block Modified/358-Modified combined) or $100 (Sportsman Modified, Pro Stock, Street Stock), while the cost of a DIRTcar License for crew members and car owners is $80.
