The 37th Annual Alltel DIRTcar Nationals are finally here for the Big-Block Modifieds. The 2008 edition marks the 10th straight year of Advance Auto Parts partnership with the premier Modified Series in the Northeast so let the celebration begin!

“Every year our customers and team members get more excited than the one before when the season starts,” said Mike Paris, Advance Auto Parts Motorsports Marketing Manager. “The past nine years have gone by so fast. We began with the Big-Blocks and have grown a little bit every year. We’re more involved than ever starting at Volusia and this time around we can’t wait to get back out on the road.”

Top DIRTcar Big-Block teams recently waved good-bye to the snow banks at home and set course for Florida and Volusia’s familiar half-mile clay for their week of speed. The season-opening Modified events, Feb. 13-16, highlight the 24th trip for Advance Auto Parts Series racers to the Sunshine State since taking the maiden voyage in 1978. Danny Johnson is the reigning DIRTcar Nationals Big-Block Modified points king.

Accessible 24-hours a day, the Official Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series Web site at http://www.superdirtcarseries.com during the Alltel DIRTcar Nationals will be providing daily race coverage that include driver/team entries, feature results, point standings and a victory lane photo. Among the features found on-line during the upcoming season will be driver biographies with individual statistics and pictures, Advance Series finishes, detailed track information and race reports, series news and press releases.

Activity for Big-Block Modifieds begins Tuesday, Feb. 12 with evening practice. Open-wheel action concludes on Saturday, Feb. 16 with the final leg of the four-race tour covering 50 laps.
