1 MONTH ALERT: Malta Massive weekend at Albany-Saratoga returns Sept. 24

The Super DIRTcar Series will make its second and final stop of the season at Albany-Saratoga Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 24, with massive rewards on the line.

There will be a $10,000 payday and a guaranteed starting spot in the 50th Running of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week (Oct. 3-9) up for grabs during the Malta Massive Weekend.

It’ll also be the last regular season stop for the Series before venturing to Oswego Speedway for NAPA Super DIRT Week and then to The Dirt Track at Charlotte for the championship determining World of Outlaws World Finals (Nov. 2-5).

MALTA MASSIVE WEEKEND – Saturday, Sept. 24
Track: Albany-Saratoga Speedway
Location: Malta, NY
To Win: $10,000
2021 Winner: Mike Mahaney

Notables: The stars of the Super DIRTcar Series will be up against several local heroes during the Malta Massive Weekend, such as King Ferry, NY’s Mike Mahaney. Along with winning the Malta Massive Weekend last year, Mahaney also won with the Super DIRTcar Series at Albany-Saratoga in June.

Rookie contender this year, Marc Johnson, of Guilderland, NY, had a career-best run during the June Albany-Saratoga race, battling Mahaney for the win before ultimately having to settle for second.

He wasn’t the only rookie to have a good run, though. Anthony Perrego, of Montgomery, NY, finished fourth, helping to vault him into championship contention at the time. He’s slipped back to fourth in points and will look to regain momentum with another strong run at Albany-Saratoga.

Sheppard is currently the winningest driver this season, with five victories, winning on big and small tracks. He struggled at Albany-Saratoga in June, though, finishing 10th after starting 11th. He and everyone else will try to use the Malta Massive Weekend as a momentum building launching point into NAPA Super DIRT Week.

If you can’t make it to the track, you can watch all the action live on DIRTVision – either online or by downloading the DIRTVision App.
