The Super DIRTcar Series will make its final trip of the year to Weedsport Speedway for the doubleheader Cavalcade Weekend, Sept. 10-11.

The two-day event will see the best Big Block Modified drivers in the country compete for a $7,500 payday on Saturday, Sept. 10, and then a $10,000 top prize and NAPA Super DIRT Week guaranteed starting position on Sunday, Sept. 11.

This will mark the third and fourth Series events at the state-of-the-art facility. Stewart Friesen won the first event this year in May and the second will be run during SummerFAST on Monday, Aug. 15.

Joining the Super DIRTcar Series for the massive weekend will be the DIRTcar Pro Stocks on Saturday and the DIRTcar Sportsman Central Region Series on Sunday.

CAVALCADE WEEKEND – Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 10-11
Track: Weedsport Speedway
Location: Weedsport, NY
To Win: $7,500 (Saturday) / $10,000 (Sunday)
2021 Winner: Matt Sheppard

Notables: Five-time NAPA Super DIRT Week champion Stewart Friesen has won the last two Super DIRTcar Series events at the 3/8-mile track. Last year, for the win, he had to hold off Max McLaughlin – who earned his first career Series victory at the track in 2020.

This year, McLaughlin rejoined Heinke-Baldwin Racing – located just outside the speedway – becoming Jimmy Phelps teammate again. The two teammates will look to bring HBR a home track win.

Eight-time and defending Series champion Matt Sheppard, of Waterloo, NY, has the most Series wins of all active driver with six. He finished fourth during the Heroes Remembered 100 in May.

With two days of racing, there will be two chances for several drivers to get their first win at the speedway. Anthony Perrego, currently second in Series points, is still looking for this first win this season and first at Weedsport. He’ll be joined with drivers like Tim Sears Jr., Marc Johnson, Alex Yankoswski, Peter Britten and several others looking for their first Weedsport triumph.

If you can’t make it to the track, you can watch all the action live on DIRTVision – either online or by downloading the DIRTVision App.
