A three-night speedweek through Central New York awaits the Super DIRTcar Series as it returns to action in the third annual SummerFAST.
The tripleheader kicks off at Brewerton Speedway on Monday, Aug. 12, before returning to Land of Legends Raceway on Tuesday, Aug. 13. Then, the mini-series finishes at Fulton Speedway on Wednesday, Aug. 14. For Tickets, CLICK HERE.
Each Feature will be 75 laps, paying $7,500 to win. Drivers will accumulate points on all three nights to determine a SummerFAST champion. Those points will also count toward the 2024 Super DIRTcar Series championship.
If you can’t make it to the track, you can watch all the action live on DIRTVision.
The action doesn’t stop on the track, as autograph sessions will occur all three nights from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., along with special driver introductions before each Feature.
Fans can also bring pop tabs to the Super DIRT Week tent on all three nights. The Series is collecting them to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York.
Here’s a look at what to watch for at Brewerton, Land of Legends, and Fulton:
A Super-Hot Streak: Current Super DIRTcar Series points leader Matt Sheppard is on fire entering the third-annual SummerFAST.
Along with his win in the King of the North Finale last month, the Waterloo, NY driver scored wins at Mohawk International Raceway and Cornwall Motor Speedway earlier this week.
That hot streak comes as the Series returns to two tracks where he’s won more Super DIRTcar Series Features than any other driver. “Super” Matt has six wins at Brewerton and eight at Land of Legends – the latest in last year’s SummerFAST finale.
The two-time SummerFAST Champion enters Brewerton with a 27-point lead over Mat Williamson in the overall standings. He’s also three wins away from becoming the second driver to reach 100 Super DIRTcar Series victories – a feat only accomplished by Hall of Famer Brett Hearn.
Reclaiming the Buzz: While Williamson has five podium finishes in the championship season, he’s finished outside the top five in two of his last three starts. That includes a 23rd at Weedsport that cost him the points lead.
However, except for Sheppard’s SummerFAST win in 2022, no one has been better recently than Williamson at Brewerton. The St. Catharines, ON driver has won seven of his last eight starts at the “D-Shaped Dirt Demon,” including last year’s SummerFAST opener with an exciting last-lap pass on Sheppard.
He’s also the most recent winner at Land of Legends, outdueling Sheppard when the Series visited on July 4.
Beware of the Bandit: While Sheppard and Williamson have won the last eight Super DIRTcar Series events at Brewerton, Jimmy Phelps enters SummerFAST as the track points leader.
The Baldwinsville, NY driver has three victories at the track in 2024, including Brewerton’s most recent event on July 26.
Phelps has finished in the top five in four of his last five Series starts, including a win at Thunder Mountain Speedway in the Natural 77 and a third at Land of Legends in July.
He’s also the most recent Series winner at Fulton, sweeping both the Super DIRTcar Series and DIRTcar 358 Modified Series portion of OktoberFAST in 2020.
The “Baldwinsville Bandit” is currently third in the standings – 36 points behind Sheppard.
Building Momentum: Defending Brewerton and Fulton track champion Tim Sears Jr., and Land of Legends regular Alex Payne are building momentum as they prepare for the three-day speedweek.
Sears has finished in the top five in five of his last six Super DIRTcar Series starts, including a pair of podium finishes during the King of the North.

“Timmer” has also had success at Brewerton in Series competition. He has five top fives in Super DIRTcar Series Features at the track, including a runner-up finish in 2016 and a third last year.
Sears enters the tripleheader fourth in points – 51 points behind Sheppard.
Alex Payne, meanwhile, is coming off back-to-back top fives at Drummond; his two best Super DIRTcar Series finishes.
He also returns to Land of Legends, where he’s won three times in 2024. The Hopewell, NY driver finished sixth in the Series’ first appearance at his home track in July.
