Super DIRTcar Series Adds September event at Can-Am Speedway

Drivers take the Green Flag at Can-Am Speedway

The Beasts of the Northeast will make its second stop of 2024 at the La Fargeville, NY track on Friday, Sept. 6 for the R.D. Hutchinson Memorial

The Super DIRTcar Series has added a fall trip to northern New York in 2024 with a second stop to Can-Am Speedway on Friday, Sept. 6.

The new 67-lap, $7,567-to-win R.D. Hutchinson Memorial will be one of the highlights of the track’s 50th Jubilee season. It also marks the first time the Super DIRTcar Series will race twice at Can-Am in the same season since the Twin 50s in August 2007.

“Can-Am has been a staple on our schedule for many years, not only with the Super DIRTcar Series, but all of our Northeast series,” Reynolds said. “We’re excited to return in the fall to put on a great event for the fans as part of a jam-packed September schedule.”

Fans who attend the R.D. Hutchinson Memorial could witness history as reigning Super DIRTcar Series champion Matt Sheppard chases his 100th Series victory while hunting an unprecedented 11th title. However, defending Billy Whittaker Cars 200 winner Mat Williamson and Can-Am’s defending 358 Modified track champion Tim Fuller will be among the stout field of drivers trying to keep him out of Victory Lane.

With the addition of the September event, Can-Am is now the first leg of a doubleheader weekend. After battling at Can-Am on Sept. 6, the Series moves to Weedsport Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 7, for a $10,000-to-win Feature and a Billy Whittaker Cars 200 Qualifier.

That means one driver could walk away with $17,567 if they can sweep the weekend.

The Super DIRTcar Series starts its 2024 season at Volusia Speedway Park during Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals, Feb. 14-17. For tickets, visit DIRTcarNationals.com.
