With the best interest of fans and traveling teams in mind, and weather models showing up to an inch of rain falling on Tuesday at Georgetown Speedway, Super DIRTcar Series and track officials have postponed the Delaware Diamond 75.
The decision was made after consultation with Precision Weather Service.
Series and track officials are searching for a viable date to reschedule the event.
The Super DIRTcar Series will continue its high-octane show on Memorial Day weekend with a doubleheader. First, the Beasts of the Northeast head to Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, NY, on Sunday, May 25, for the Heroes Remembered 100.
Then, the Series returns to Thunder Mountain Speedway in Lisle, NY, for the second annual Natural 77honoring Dale Planck on Monday, May 26.
Alex Yankowski enters the weekend with an 11-point lead over defending Series champion Mat Williamson, who’s won three of the last four Heroes Remembered 100s. They’ll have to try to stop Series veteran and Weedsport promoter Jimmy Phelps, as he tries to defend home turf and aims for back-to-back victories at Thunder Mountain.
