On the United States of America’s 248th birthday, the Super DIRTcar Series will gift drivers and fans with a unique format for the July Fourth Stars and Stripes Spectacular at Land of Legends Raceway.

“Paul (Cole, Land of Legends Raceway promoter) came to us wanting to do something a little different from the norm, a twist that might pique the fan’s interest,” said Dean Reynolds, Super DIRTcar Series director. “While the Super DIRTcar Series format has been consistent, proven and attracts a great field of cars race in, race out, we also aren’t against trying something a little different at a show or two, especially a track that runs Big Blocks weekly.”

Timed Hot Laps will kick off the Stars and Stripes Spectacular, setting the Heat Race lineups. However, that’s where the first shakeup occurs. After timed Hot Laps are compete, the top four drivers in each Heat Race will be inverted.

Then, drivers will battle for a top-two finish, which locks them into the redraw. But this time, a twist heightens the importance of winning the Heat Race.

The winners in each Heat Race will draw for positions one through four in the Feature, while the second-place finishers will draw for positions five though eight.

With a projected four-heat program, the top five drivers in each Heat Race transfer into the Feature.

Once the feature lineup is set, drivers will battle for 76 laps and a $7,600 prize.

The Super DIRTcar Series will visit Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua, NY, on Thursday, July 4, for the Stars and Stripes Spectacular, along with the CRSA Sprint Car Series.
