As excitement builds for the Super DIRTcar Series’ return to Canada, Felix Roy is ready for his opportunity to race at home.

The King of the North at Autodrome Drummond in Drummondville, QC, on July 22-23 is the Series’ only stop in Quebec in 2024, a two-night swing Roy is looking forward to.

“We’re used to running at tracks like Drummond every week,” Roy said. “That’s what our home tracks are. We’re super excited. We won a Big Block show there earlier this year, and we’re really confident we can have good results.”

The Napierville, QC driver wants to build on those results after the two Series stops at Drummond in 2023. Roy said his two top 10 finishes were successful toward earning Rookie of the Year honors last year.

“The first night, we started dead last and got to sixth,” Roy said. “The second night, we led some laps before getting into it with laps cars, and they put us back to third. But we got sixth place again. It was really nice to lead laps in a Super DIRTcar Series race.”

Despite having three wins this season, including his first Big Block Modified triumph at Drummond earlier this season, he’s struggled in Super DIRTcar Series events in 2024. His best finish was an 11th in the Heroes Remembered 100 at Weedsport Speedway in May.

However, the 19-year-old driver is confident he can turn it around for the rest of the season.

“It’s just bad luck,” Roy said. “We’ve put a ton of work in at the shop and made some major changes, and I think it’s going to be good. We’ll be back stronger for the second half of the season.”

Roy aims to start gaining momentum when the Series returns to Drummond for the first two nights of the three-race Canada swing.

“Hollywood” said he can’t wait for the reception he may get if he finds Victory Lane during King of the North.

“We’re really excited to come back to Drummond,” Roy said. “We’ll try to get a win, and it would be nice to win there with my fans in the stands.”

The Super DIRTcar Series roars into Autodrome Drummond on Monday, July 22, and Tuesday, July 23, for the 2024 edition of King of the North. Tuesday’s event is a Super DIRT Week Qualifier.

Then, the Series heads West to visit Brockville Ontario Speedway in the Canadian Classic on Wednesday, July 24—the only stop in Ontario this season.
