An annual summer tradition continues next week, as the Super DIRTcar Series prepares for four straight nights of action in Central New York.
The fourth annual SummerFAST kicks off on Sunday, Aug. 17, with a stop at Weedsport Speedway, followed by a trip to Brewerton Speedway on Monday, Aug. 18. Then, the Series heads back to Land of Legends Raceway on Tuesday, Aug. 19, before the SummerFAST finale at Fulton Speedway on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
Each race will be 75 laps, paying $7,500-to-win. Drivers will accumulate points throughout the week to determine this year’s SummerFAST champion.
Along with the non-stop action from the Beasts of the Northeast, fans who attend the events will be able to take part in activities before Hot Laps each night.
A group of drivers will be signing autographs at all four events, allowing fans to interact with their favorite Super DIRTcar Series stars. Head Starter Dave Farney will also bring Flaggin’ with Farney to each night of SummerFAST, giving fans the chance to learn the art of flagging.
Fans can also visit our Super DIRTcar Series Fan experience tent and Kids Club and take part in other activities, including the Gearbox Driving Experience simulator, and more.
If you can’t make it to a Super DIRTcar Series event, watch all the action live on DIRTVision, either online or with the DIRTVision app.
Here’s a look at What to Watch for during SummerFAST:
SummerFAST Champions: Entering the fourth annual SummerFAST, two drivers already know the path to win the week-long title.
Ten-time Super DIRTcar Series champion won the first two iterations of the summer staple, while Alex Yankowski won last year’s event.
Sheppard, from Waterloo, NY, has four SummerFAST Feature wins and enters Sunday’s event at Weedsport with six straight Super DIRTcar Series podiums, including two victories. He’s also the most recent winner at Land of Legends in weekly competition and earned a third during the Hall of Fame 100 at Weedsport last month.
“Super Matt” is searching for his 102nd career Series victory and has Series triumphs at all four SummerFASTtracks. He’s currently second in the Series standings, 60 points behind defending champion Mat Williamson.
Yankowski, meanwhile, won last year’s week-long title with a thrilling Feature win at Fulton. However, he hasn’t earned a points-paying victory since that night. Despite being winless, though, he won the last miniseries the Beasts of the Northeast competed in, earning the “Big Gator Trophy” at Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals in February.
Along with his win at Fulton, the Covington Township, PA driver has a second-place finish at Land of Legends (2024), a 16th at Brewerton (2023), and earned a fourth and eighth in two Weedsport starts in 2025.
Williamson On Top: While he’s won two Super DIRTcar Series titles, Williamson is still searching for his first SummerFAST championship.
However, he does have two event Feature wins, winning a thriller at Brewerton in 2023 and backing it up with a Land of Legends win in 2024. The St. Catharines, ON driver has Series wins at three of the four tracks, including a win at Land of Legends last month. And despite not winning a Big Block Feature at Fulton, he won this year’s DIRTcar 358 Modified Series visit in June.
“Money Mat” is aiming for his 34th career Series win after dominating Tuesday’s Ron Martin Summer Nationalsat Ransomville Speedway.
Five Car Tussle: One of the season-long battles to keep an eye on throughout SummerFAST is the battle between seventh and 12th in the point standings, separated by 48 points. From seventh to 12th in the finals standings is also a difference of $5,000 in point fund money at the end of the season.
With his win at Sharon Speedway, Anthony Perrego has taken over seventh place, holding a four-point advantage over 2023 Series Rookie of the Year Felix Roy. Peter Britten is 10 points behind Perrego in ninth, and only six points ahead of Jack Lehner, who’s 10th.
Tim Sears Jr. and Jimmy Phelps round out the top 12 in Series points.
Phelps has had more success than any of the other five drivers, with four of his 22 Series wins coming at Brewerton, Fulton, and Weedsport.
Sears may also have an advantage in this four-race swing, as he currently leads the points standings at Brewerton and is the defending track champion at Fulton.
Here Come the Outsiders: Four nights in Central, NY, means several drivers will join the battle to become SummerFAST champion.
That starts with Max McLaughlin, who returns to Super DIRTcar Series competition in a Jack Lehner-owned Big Block.

McLaughlin has Series victories at Weedsport and Land of Legends, but will make his first Series start on Sunday since Super DIRT Week 52.
Joining “Mad Max” with appearances this week will be Brewerton regular Chris Hile and Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Famer Tim Fuller.
Hile already has a win at the “D-Shaped Dirt Demon” in 2025 and knows what it takes to win a Super DIRTcar Series Feature after winning at Albany-Saratoga Speedway in 2023.
Fuller, meanwhile, has won seven Series Features between the four tracks, earning wins at Land of Legends, Fulton, and Weedsport.
One more driver expected to make the trip North for three of the four events is Ryan Godown, who won earlier this season at Big Diamond Speedway. The Ringoes, NJ driver is aiming for his third career Series win and first SummerFAST victory.
