When the Super DIRTcar Series returns to action during SummerFAST, a familiar name will join the field.

Former Series star Max McLaughlin will join forces with current Series regular Jack Lehner to run an eight-race schedule throughout the rest of 2025.

The Mooresville, NC driver will enter all four events during SummerFAST, along with his return to Super DIRT Week 53 at Oswego Speedway (Oct. 6-11), and the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Nov. 5-8).

It’s an opportunity, he said, he’s excited for, after being out of a racecar for almost a year.

“I feel like it’s been years,” McLaughlin said. “Other than testing the Super (Late Model) at Ohsweken (Speedway) with Glenn (Styres), I haven’t really been in a racecar all year.

“It’s going to be a great time. I have a lot of faith in Jack, and he’s got great equipment, so it’s going to be a fun week.”

The car, owned by Lehner, will be numbered with McLaughlin’s familiar “Crazy 8” on the side, sponsored by Glenn Styres Racing. The “Ginga Ninja” said he was more than happy to give Max the opportunity.

“He just really misses Modified racing and wants to get back into it,” Lehner said. “One day, he got a hold of me and said he wanted to do SummerFAST, (Super) DIRT Week, and Charlotte. Fortunately, I’m in a position where it’s feasible. We have the equipment and stuff to be able to do it. So, we kind of just sat down and gathered up an idea of what it’s going to take to do this stuff. And with some great partners, and a lot of mine and Max’s people jumping on board, we were able to put the deal together.”

“Mad Max’s” first four races during SummerFAST will be at tracks he’s familiar with, including Weedsport and Land of Legends Raceway, where he’s won Super DIRTcar Series Features.

But despite the familiarity of those tracks, he said he knows he’ll have an uphill battle racing against the top drivers in the Northeast.

“It’s not going to be easy by any means,” McLaughlin said. “I’ve won at all four tracks before. So, it’s definitely nice to go to tracks I’ve been at before. I just have to knock the rust off. I have faith in Jack with setup stuff. Hopefully, I unload good, get some good Qualifying laps, and get a good start in the heat. Makes life a lot easier when you can do that.”

Along with Glenn Styres Racing, Max and Jack would like to thank all of the sponsors involved, including Weaknecht Archery, Benson’s Pet Center, Dynasty Athletics, and IV Me Now.

The first stop on McLaughlin’s eight-race schedule comes at the SummerFAST kickoff on Sunday, Aug. 17, at Weedsport Speedway. Then, he’ll compete the next three nights with the Super DIRTcar Series at Brewerton Speedway (Aug. 18), Land of Legends Raceway (Aug. 19), and Fulton Speedway (Aug. 20).
