A highly anticipated doubleheader awaits the Super DIRTcar Series, as drivers prepare for stops in Ohio and Western New York.
First, the Beasts of the Northeast make their triumphant return to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH, for the first time since 2017 on Monday, Aug. 11. The Steel Valley 75 presented by Capital Renegade Custom Coaches will be a 75-lap Feature, paying $10,000-to-win. It also offers a guaranteed starting spot at Super DIRT Week 53.
NASCAR champion and Sharon Speedway co-owner Ryan Blaney will join the fun, participating in a Question-and-Answer segment for kids before Hot Laps, as well as the DIRTVision broadcast with Mike Warren and Rich Vleck.

Along with Blaney’s appearance, fans can take part in many activities prior to the event, including the return of Flagging with Farney, the track’s Kids Club, the Weedsport Speedway Gearbox Simulator, and more.
After Sharon, the Series returns to New York for a visit to Ransomville Speedway in Ransomville, NY, the track’s only stop on the Niagara Frontier in 2025. The Ron Martin Summer Nationals will be 75 laps, paying $7,500-to-win.
If you can’t make it to the track, watch all the action live on DIRTVision, either online or with the DIRTVision app.
Here’s a look at what to watch for at Sharon and Ransomville:
Another Lock-In: A $10,000 prize isn’t the only thing on the line when the Series visits Sharon on Monday. Drivers will also battle for the sixth guaranteed starting spot of the season in the Billy Whittaker Cars 200during Super DIRT Week 53 at Oswego Speedway.
Stewart Friesen, Mario Clair, Mat Williamson, Matt Sheppard, and Alex Yankowski have all earned their spot in Qualifiers this season, and one driver will join them following the Steel Valley 75.
If any of those drivers win the $10,000 prize on Monday, the guaranteed spot goes to the next driver in the finishing order who isn’t already locked in.
Here are the remaining Super DIRT Week Qualifiers in 2025:
Sharon Speedway (Aug. 11)
Lebanon Valley Speedway (Aug. 28)
Weedsport Speedway (Sept. 6)
Albany-Saratoga Speedway (Sept. 20)
Batman and the Bandit: Monday’s visit to Sharon will be the first stop at the 3/8-mile dirt track since 2017. And for two drivers, it’s a chance to earn their first points-paying wins of 2025.
The last time the Series raced at Sharon, Peter Britten scored his first career Super DIRTcar Series victory. The Brisbane, QLD driver has only made two starts at the track, the other coming in 2016 when he finished 25th.
While he hasn’t reached Victory Lane at Ransomville, “Batman” has found some success at the “Big R.” In eight starts, Britten has three podium finishes, including two seconds in 2021 and 2022.
Jimmy Phelps, meanwhile, is the only other driver in the field who’s earned a Series victory at Sharon. Phelps, from Baldwinsville, NY, won in 2016 and has made four total starts at the track in his career. Along with his win, his other two top fives came in the track’s Lou Blaney Memorial, where he finished third in 2013 and fourth in 2023.
The Baldwinsville, NY, driver enters the doubleheader with three consecutive top 10s, a streak of consistency he’ll aim to maintain through Ransomville, where he’s earned a top five and three top 10s in 13 Series starts.
A Chance to Extend: Despite finishing on the podium in seven of the last eight Series events, Mat Williamson enters Sharon and Ransomville with a 13-point lead over Alex Yankowski.
However, the defending Series champion is one of the two full-time drivers in the field who have wins at both facilities. The St. Catharines, ON driver leads the points standings at Ransomville this season, with six of his 20 victories in 2025 at the Niagara Frontier track.
He also has two wins at Sharon, including a Lou Blaney Memorial triumph in 2023.
Yankowski, meanwhile, is in a similar situation to what he faced at Autodrome Drummond and Brockville Ontario Speedway. The Covington Township, PA driver will make his first starts at both Sharon and Ransomville next week.
“Kid Rocket” is the only Super DIRTcar Series driver to finish in the top 10 in all 12 points-paying races this season.
Lurking Behind: With four-straight podium finishes, Matt Sheppard has moved into third in the Series standings, 63 points behind Williamson. The Waterloo, NY driver is starting to heat up after back-to-back wins at Autodrome Drummond.
Sheppard is a two-time winner at Ransomville, earning victories in 2017 and 2021. Meanwhile, at Sharon, he’s only made two starts at the track, finishing 26th in 2016 and ninth in 2017.
Behind Sheppard in the standings is Alex Payne, who’s fresh off his second career Series win at Brockville. Payne, from Hopewell, NY, will make his first start at Sharon on Monday and his fourth Series start at Ransomville on Tuesday, where his best finish is a 16th last season.
Payne enters Sharon 16 points behind Sheppard for third.
Rudolph’s Road: Rounding out the top five in Series points entering the doubleheader at Sharon and Ransomville is Erick Rudolph, who has wins at both facilities. While the Ransomville, NY driver doesn’t have a Series win at Sharon, he’s reached Victory Lane seven times at the track, including twice in the Lou Blaney Memorial.
At his home track in Ransomville, he has two Series triumphs, including the Ron Martin Summer Nationals in 2023.
He’s only finished outside the top 10 once in points-paying events in 2025, so far, and enters Monday’s race 105 points behind Williamson.
Close Race for Seventh: Heading into the Steel Valley 75, positions seven through 12 in the Super DIRTcar Series points standings are separated by 44 points.
Felix Roy leads that group and brings momentum into Sharon after finishing fifth last Wednesday at Brockville and earning a Big Block win at Cornwall Motor Speedway last Sunday. The Napierville, QC driver has a seven-point advantage over Britten, who’s in eighth.
Jack Lehner is five points behind Britten in ninth after a 10th at Brockville. While he’s yet to make a start at Sharon, the Saratoga Springs, NY driver has found success at Ransomville. He finished fourth in last year’s Ron Martin Summer Nationals.
Anthony Perrego rounds out the top 10 in the Series standings, 18 points behind “Roy.” Like Roy and Lehner, he’ll make his first start at Sharon on Monday. The “Ant-Man” finished seventh at Ransomville in 2024.
Tim Sears Jr. is currently 11th in points, 29 points behind Roy for seventh. The Hastings, NY driver has finished in the top five in two of the last three races and finished fifth at Ransomville last year.
Phelps rounds out the top 12, 44 points behind Roy.
