Weedsport, NYFebruary 23, 2009 – By Tom Skibinski, DIRTcar Racing Northeast PR Director

VP Racing Fuels made its initial run as the Official Racing Fuel of the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series, World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and World of Outlaws Late Model Series in February’s season-opening Alltel DIRTcar Nationals by UNOH at Volusia Speedway Park.

When Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway stages the first points event in the 2009 Advance Auto Parts Series on March 28, the Big-Block Modified tour opener will mark the Northeastern debut where VP Racing Fuels will be the exclusive trackside supplier for all Mr. DIRTcar title contenders.

“The transition went very smooth in Florida as teams easily made adjustments and the feedback remained positive throughout the week,” said VP’s Director of Marketing Steve Scheidker, who was stationed pitside at VSP to monitor activity during the four-race mini-tour. “The teams were pleased with the performance and drivers already noticed increases in horsepower and torque. When distances get longer come summertime, the quality of our fuel will be even more evident with the cooler engine temperatures that prevail race after race.”

The multi-year agreement recently reached between VP Racing Fuels and the World Racing Group encompasses all 12 divisions of DIRTcar Racing and UMP DIRTcar Racing, along with a number of regional touring series that fall under the DIRTcar banner. While fuel blends available to other divisions and regional series include VP113, Late Model Plus, Motorsport 109, M1 and M5 Methanol, in the DIRTcar Racing Northeast Region the only fuels allowed in the Big-Block Modified and 358-Modified divisions at sanctioned events will be VP110 and C12.

“VP has fueled Modified winners at Syracuse and the rest of the DIRTcar member tracks many times in the past so we’re on very familiar ground,” remarked VP’s Eastern Regional Manager Jim Kelly, who will be in attendance at many of the Advance Series stops scheduled during the tour’s 30th successive season. “We’re excited to be getting back to those tracks and fueling the Big-Block and 358-Modifieds as they compete for Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series victories and valuable Mr. DIRTcar Championship points across the Northeast.”

VP Racing Fuels will roll out a program to quickly become a part of the fabric of DIRTcar Racing with aggressive promotional programs for DIRTcar sanctioned tracks, while giving the competitors a variety of incentive programs across all World Racing Group series, divisions and sanctioning bodies.

Race teams are strongly encouraged to contact the DIRTcar Northeast office in Weedsport, New York (315/834-6606) to obtain the proper VP Racing Fuels uniform patches and car decals that are required for competition in all Big-Block and 358-Modified events held in 2009. As per the 2008-09 DIRTcar Racing NE Rule Book (p. 22, 5.20.16), no other fuel company logos are permitted to be displayed anywhere on the race car and driver’s uniform, and those that are in conflict MUST be removed.

For specific questions regarding contingency kits and rules, DIRTcar NE Director of Competition & Track Sanctioning Cory Reed can be reached at 315/224-9009. Additional concerns about VP Racing Fuels can be addressed to Jim Kelly (302/368-1500) with technical support always provided by VP Racing Fuels Research & Development Director Freddie Turza (302/521-1767).
