Orange County Fair Speedway joins list of high-paying 50th NAPA Super DIRT Week Qualifiers

With the addition of Orange County Fair Speedway to the 2022 Super DIRTcar Series schedule, eight high-paying events are set to award a prestigious 50th NAPA Super DIRT Week guaranteed starting spot.

The July 28 race at Orange County will be 73-laps and pay $10,000 to the winner, joining the doubleheader at Atomic Speedway, both Mr. DIRT Track USA events at Lebanon Valley Speedway, the Hall of Fame 100 and Cavalcade Weekend at Weedsport Speedway and the Malta Massive Weekend at Albany-Saratoga Speedway as a Qualifier event.

Next year marks a historic season for the Super DIRTcar Series. It’ll see a new $200,000 overall points fund, pay $60,000 to the champion, journey to six different states for the first time in 15 years and race nearly 30 events from February to November, including the milestone 50th NAPA Super DIRT Week (Oct. 3-9).

“The 2022 season will be a big year for the Super DIRTcar Series with the historic running of the 50th NAPA Super DIRT Week, and we’re very pleased to present a schedule worthy of the year-long buildup to that event,” said DIRTcar CEO Brian Carter. “With racing in Pennsylvania and Ohio, the addition of SummerFAST (Aug. 16-18), and the return to several of New York’s greatest dirt tracks, we couldn’t be more excited to unleash the Big Block Modifieds for another spectacular season.”

The eight Qualifier events give drivers eight chances to lock themselves into the Feature they all dream of winning – the 200-lap, $50,000-to-win, Billy Whittaker Cars 200. To secure the spot, they must win the event. If a previous Qualifier victor for the year wins another Qualifier, the next driver in the running order to have not won a Qualifier yet will earn the spot.

With one of the largest Big Block Modified purses on the line and the prestige of NAPA Super DIRT Week’s 50th year, drivers from across the country, and the globe, will be looking to file the 40-car Feature. They’ll all be vying for the lucrative spot in the history books, including the likes of two-time and defending NAPA Super DIRT Week champion Mat Williamson, eight-time and defending Super DIRTcar Series champion Matt Sheppard, NASCAR-star Stewart Friesen, Australia’s Peter Britten, 2021 DIRTcar Nationals champion Max McLaughlin and more.
