Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each Super DIRTcar Series event? Series Announcer Mike Warren will bring you his five drivers to keep an eye on each race weekend.
This week: Anthracite Assault at Big Diamond Speedway, June 3, and the Snyder County Showdown at Selinsgrove Speedway, June 4
MIKE’S FIVE:
Matt Sheppard
Why: The 10-time Series champion comes into this event red-hot after winning four consecutive races last weekend. He’s also one of the few drivers in the field who have won at both tracks in his career, including a Series triumph at Big Diamond in 2022.
Stewart Friesen
Why: Friesen is undefeated in Super DIRTcar Series points-paying events he’s entered in 2025, earning wins at New Egypt Speedway and Weedsport Speedway. Also, outside of Volusia Speedway Park, the last time the Series raced at a 1/2-mile track or larger like Selinsgrove, he stood in Victory Lane in the Billy Whittaker Cars 200 at Oswego Speedway.
Anthony Perrego
Why: Perrego has finished in the top 10 in all four points-paying events in 2025 but hasn’t been able to reach Victory Lane. He won the Anthracite Assault two years ago and stood on the podium at Big Diamond last year.
Erick Rudolph
Why: Like Perrego, Rudolph has also finished in the top 10 in all four races in the championship season. The Ransomville, NY driver made the redraw last year before finishing ninth, a mark he aims to beat with his consistency. Last year was also the first time he visited the track since 2020, so he has more experience to draw from this time around.
Alex Yankowski
Why: The Super DIRTcar Series points leader has the chance to defend his home state this weekend with back-to-back nights in Pennsylvania. “Kid Rocket,” who will be in the Atlas Paving No. 66 this week, has plenty of success at Big Diamond, winning the Coalcracker and Money in the Mountains. This could be a week he could separate himself from the rest of the field in the standings.
You can follow these drivers and more at Big Diamond Speedway, June 3, and Selinsgrove Speedway, June 4 by getting your tickets at the gate.
