Weedsport, NYMarch 26, 2009 – By Tom Skibinski, DIRTcar Racing Northeast PR Director

Continuing to play a pivotal supporting role in the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series, JB Motorsports team owner Jeff Brownell Sr. has developed a unique award that will be handed out at each tour stop during the 2009 race season.

Leading off with the 7th Annual North-South Shootout at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway on Saturday, March 28, the initial ‘Xtreme Lubricants Slick Move of the Race’ award will be presented after the show with the winner receiving $100 in product. A $500 cash bonus to the overall ‘Xtreme Lubricants Slick Move of the Year’ winner will be delivered during the DIRTcar Racing Northeast ‘Night of Champions’ Awards Banquet to be held at the Turning Stone Resort on November 14.

“Introducing a brand new line of racing oil while being able to benefit racers at the same time is a nice deal for us,” said Brownell, who already rewarded ‘09 Alltel DIRTcar Nationals By UNOH Florida tour points champion Pat Ward with a $1,000 prize package that included $500 cash plus $500 in Xtreme Lubricants Gear Lube and Hi-Performance Race Oil. “This product is for the racers so giving back to them is a natural response to their support.”

“We went back to some old methods developing this special oil. It’s strictly a racing product, geared 100% for racing and made with some time tested elements. We’re confident every team can benefit from its use and notice a difference right away. Florida proved to be a perfect place to launch it and the Advance Series provides a great tool to market it,” added Brownell, noting that Budd Olsen Speed Supplies based in South Jersey and Bicknell Racing Products in St. Catharines, Ontario currently stock both Xtreme gear lube and oil.

The ‘Xtreme Lubricants Slick Move of the Race’ will be determined by those Advance Series officials presiding over each event. The criteria does not limit the award winner to making a memorable move on the track, as any noteworthy action —avoiding an accident en route to the track or helping out a fellow competitor in the pits— on race day could sway voters when making their final decision.

Veteran Central New York car owner Brownell boasts 40 years of experience in the oil business with 25 of those recognized nationally as a company owner. His drivers, Advance Series standout Matt Sheppard (#9s) and teammate Jeff Brownell Jr. (#29), will be steering a pair of Bicknell Big-Block cars carrying the XTreme Lubricants colors at Hagerstown and continuing their travels around the entire DIRTcar NE circuit.

Sheppard and Brownell Jr. are among nearly 40 drivers planning to make the haul Saturday south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Pits gates are scheduled to unlock at 3:00 p.m., grandstands open at 4:00 p.m. with warm-ups starting at 5:30 p.m. followed by Integra Shocks Big-Block Time Trials. Hagerstown Speedway is located on U.S. Route 40, four miles west of I-81.
