The World of Outlaws World Finals brings the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, World of Outlaws Late Models, and Super DIRTcar Series to The Dirt Track at Charlotte, Nov. 5-8
Some roads have been winding. Some roads have been exciting. And some roads have been unexpected. But all dirt roads lead to the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, Nov. 5-8.
The nation’s three premier dirt racing series – the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series, World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision, and Super DIRTcar Series – will conclude their 2025 seasons at “America’s Home For Racing.”
With a year-long points battle for all three series, the storylines have not disappointed throughout the 2025 season. Some drivers have put on historic performances. Some have had surprise seasons. And some newcomers have not let you forget their names.
Super DIRTcar Series
Before the Super DIRTcar Series crowns its champion in Charlotte, The Beasts of the Northeast have a few more big events to set the stage for the finale, including the Series’ “Super Bowl” event – Super DIRT Week 53 at Oswego Speedway, Oct. 6-11.
Reigning and two-time Series champion Mat Williamson has led the way for most of the season, but 21-year-old Alex Yankowksi, in his first full season with the Series, has not let Williamson out of his sights.
The young talent led the points early in the season before Williamson went on a streak of seven podium finishes in eight races. Both have two wins (as of this writing) this season, however, Williamson’s two wins are points-paying victories while Yankowski’s first win of the season came during the non-points event at Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals.
In addition to their championship battle, there are several drivers still searching to end the season with more money in their pockets by climbing the points standings. Alex Payne continues to keep the pressure on 10-time Series champion Matt Sheppard for a podium points finish. And a few spots down, Peter Britten, Anthony Perrego, Jimmy Phelps, Tim Sears Jr., and Felix Roy currently sit seventh through 12th in points and all close enough to either climb in or fall out of a top-10 points finish.
World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series
David Gravel has had a season that will be celebrated along the likes of 20-time Series champion Steve Kinser and 10-time Series champion Donny Schatz with 15 wins, so far, and only eight finishes outside the top 10. As long as he continues this path, he’ll add his name to the short list of World of Outlaws drivers with multiple championships.
Michael “Buddy” Kofoid has done his best to keep Gravel honest and not let him pull too far away with the points lead, collecting 11 wins this season, so far – he entered the season with 10 career Series wins. A couple of bad nights for Gravel could put Kofoid and Roth Motorsports in close enough contention to put some pressure on the Big Game Motorsports team come November.
One battle that likely won’t be decided until the final lap of World Finals is the duel for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year title between Garet Williamson and Chris Windom. The two standouts have swapped the lead in the race for the special accomplishment throughout the season. Williamson leads the battle after the J&S Classics National Open at Williams Grove Speedway, but there’s still a long dirt road ahead for the two rookies.
World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series
After missing out on a second consecutive World of Outlaws title in 2024, Bobby Pierce didn’t waste any time putting himself back in contention for the championship this year, winning seven races in the first half of the season and then going on a streak of four straight wins in August.
A couple of poor finishes have helped keep Nick Hoffman within striking distance as the NOS Energy Drink driver chases his first Series title. Going into the final five races of the season, Pierce holds just a 108-point gap over Hoffman. However, in the battle for the Coltman Farms Racing Cup title, the roles are reversed. Hoffman holds the lead over Pierce by 62 points.
The seeding for the rest of the top-10 in points is far from settled too. Tim McCreadie, Brian Shirley, Dennis Erb Jr., and Drake Troutman (fourth through seventh) are in a fight to finish inside the top-five in points.
Cody Overton, currently sitting ninth in points is on track for a career-best points finish, but is currently the only driver in the top-10 in points without a win this season. He’ll be poised the change that and score his first-career win before the season’s end.
The four-day season finale will kick off on Tuesday, Nov. 4, with the hauler parade in front of the ZMax Dragway (next to The Dirt Track at Charlotte). Then, teams will qualify on Wednesday before three straight nights of Feature action. The fan-favorite 3X4 Wide Salute will take place on Friday night, and Saturday will conclude with championship celebrations on track.
