After thrilling fans across the region with an exciting Super DIRT Week 53, the Super DIRTcar Series isn’t slowing down by bringing the tour to Canada one more time this year.
The Series returns to Brockville Ontario Speedway in Brockville, ON, on Friday, Oct. 17, for Fall Nationals, a 100-lap Feature paying $10,000-to-win.
Joining the Beasts of the Northeast on Friday are the track’s Crate Sprint Cars, Mini Stocks, and Vintage divisions.
If you can’t make it to the track, you can watch all the action live on DIRTVision.
Friday’s event opens the two-day Fall Nationals at Brockville, with the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series and DIRTcar Sportsman Series crowning champions on Saturday, Oct. 18.
Here’s a look at what to watch for at Brockville:
Payne’s Playground: In the last two stops at Brockville Ontario Speedway, no one has been better than Alex Payne. The Hopewell, NY driver has won both of his starts at the Ontario oval, including when he led all 75 laps to win the Canadian Classic in July.
Payne enters the weekend with momentum after finishing fifth at Oswego and has finished in the top 10 in five of his last six Series starts.
If he wins on Friday, it’ll be his third career Series victory, all at Brockville.
Buzzin’ Toward Number 3: After his fourth Billy Whittaker Cars 200 victory, Mat Williamson is closing in on a third Super DIRTcar Series title in 2025.
The St. Catharines, ON driver enters Brockville with a 77-point lead over Alex Yankowski with five Features remaining.
Despite only having a DIRTcar 358 Modified Series win at Brockville, “Money Mat” has been successful at the 1/4-mile oval, finishing in the top 10 in seven of his eight Big Block starts. He’s also finished in the top five on five occasions, with four of them on the podium, including a second-place finish in July.
Yankowski, meanwhile, has only made one start at Brockville in his career, a fourth-place finish earlier this season. Like Payne and Williamson, the Covington Township, PA driver comes into the weekend with momentum, earning four consecutive top fives and six consecutive top 10s.
He’s searching for his third Series win of 2025, and fifth of his career.
Finishing Strong: Despite entering the final five races of the season third in the standings, Matt Sheppard is aiming for a strong finish to 2025.
The Savannah, NY driver has won more Features than any other full-time driver this season (5), and outside of Payne, has been the most consistent car at Brockville. “Super Matt” has finished on the podium in his last four Brockville starts, including a win, a second, and two consecutive third-place finishes. Sheppard also hasn’t finished outside the top 10 in his previous 16 starts at the Ontario facility.
A win by Sheppard would be his second consecutive Fall Nationals Series triumph, after winning in 2019.
Close Battle: With five races remaining in the 2025 schedule, the battle between sixth and 12th in the Series standings will come down to the World of Outlaws World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte.
Only 51 points separate Peter Britten in seventh and Felix Roy in 12th entering this weekend’s Fall Nationals. That’s a difference of $5,000 in the final point fund between those six positions.
Britten, who finished 32nd in the Billy Whittaker Cars 200, is 15 points ahead of Jimmy Phelps, who’s in seventh. Behind them are Anthony Perrego (ninth), Tim Sears Jr. (10th), and Jack Lehner (11th).
Out of those six drivers, Roy was the highest finisher during the Canadian Classic in July, crossing the line in sixth. Phelps, Britten, and Lehner also finished in the top 10 at Brockville earlier this season.
All six drivers are searching for their first win at Brockville.
