A pair of highly anticipated returns and an Independence Day celebration in the Finger Lakes await the Super DIRTcar Series as drivers prepare for three races in five days.
The Beasts of the Northeast kick off the three-race swing on Sunday, June 29, with its first trip to Cornwall Motor Speedway in Cornwall, ON, since 2019 for the O’Canada 100. Drivers will battle in a 100-lap Feature paying $10,000-to-win.
Along with the five-figure payday, a guaranteed starting spot at Super DIRT Week 53 is on the line.
Then, the Series returns to the United States with a stop at Mohawk International Raceway in Akwesasne, NY, on Monday, June 30. A $7,500 prize is up for grabs in the Summer Shootout 75—the first visit to the North Country facility in six years.
Finishing off the three-race swing is the annual July stop at Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua, NY, for the Stars and Stripes Spectacular on Thursday, July 3. Drivers will battle in a 76-lap Feature, paying $7,600-to-win.
If you can’t make it to a Super DIRTcar Series event, watch all the action live on DIRTVision, either online or with the DIRTVision app.
Here is a look at the key storylines entering Cornwall, Mohawk, and Land of Legends:
A Super Stop: Sunday’s visit to Cornwall will also serve as the second Super DIRT Week 53 Qualifier of the 2025 season.
Stewart Friesen became the first driver to earn a guaranteed starting spot in the Billy Whittaker Cars 200 by winning at Selinsgrove Speedway earlier this month.
If Friesen wins the O’Canada 100 on Sunday, the guaranteed spot goes to whoever finishes second.
Here are the remaining Super DIRT Week Qualifiers in 2025:
Cornwall Motor Speedway (June 29)
Weedsport Speedway (July 26 and Sept. 6)
Autodrome Drummond (July 28 and July 29)
Sharon Speedway (Aug. 11)
Lebanon Valley Speedway (Aug. 28)
Albany-Saratoga Speedway (Sept. 20)
Georgetown Speedway (TBD)
Chasing 100: When it comes to Super DIRTcar Series events at Cornwall Motor Speedway, no one has been better than 10-time Series champion Matt Sheppard.
The Waterloo, NY driver has won the last three Series Features at the 1/4-mile track and four overall. He’s also had success at Mohawk in his career, winning three Super DIRTcar Series Features at the track. However, it’s been 11 years since his last Series triumph at the Akwesasne, NY facility.
Along with his success at Cornwall and Mohawk, which includes non-Series victories at both in 2024, Sheppard also has more Series wins than any other driver at Land of Legends.
“Super Matt” is an eight-time Series winner at the Canandaigua, NY oval, and added a weekly victory there earlier this season.
Sheppard enters the three-race swing with 99 career Series victories, which means he’ll join Brett Hearn as the second driver to win 100 Super DIRTcar Series Features the next time he reaches Victory Lane.
Battle at the Top: Alex Yankowski has been the most consistent driver in 2025, entering the three-race swing with a 24-point lead over defending Series champion Mat Williamson.
The Covington Township, PA driver aims to keep that consistency rolling at a pair of tracks he hasn’t been to often. “Kid Rocket” made a start at each facility in Short Track Super Series events last year, finishing 18th at Cornwall and 13th at Mohawk.
That means it’s the first time Yankowski will race at either track on Hoosier tires.
Entering Cornwall, he’s the lone driver to finish in the top 10 in all six points-paying events this season.
Despite being second in the Series standings, Williamson enters the upcoming three-race swing winless in the Buzz Chew Racing No. 88. That could change in the next week, though, as the St. Catharines, ON driver has been successful at all three facilities.
While he doesn’t have a Super DIRTcar Series win at Cornwall, “Money Mat” has two Canadian Big Block Series wins and a DIRTcar 358 Modified Series triumph. He also earned a podium finish the last time the Super DIRTcar Series visited in 2019.
When it comes to Mohawk and Land of Legends, Williamson is the most recent Series winner at both tracks. He earned his lone Mohawk win in 2019 and swept both starts at Land of Legends last season.
He’s also the defending track champion at Land of Legends and leads this year’s track standings on the strength of three victories.
Hollywood Nights: Along with Williamson, Felix Roy is also getting the first chance to race in his home country with the Series on Sunday.
The Napierville, QC driver has found success at the 1/4-mile bullring, winning three $10,000-to-win events at the track in 2023.

Along with those wins at Cornwall, Roy hasn’t finished outside the top 10 at Mohawk in three starts at the 4/10-mile track. His best finish was seventh in an American Racer North Series race in 2024.
While he’s had success at Cornwall and Mohawk, Roy has struggled at Land of Legends throughout his career. In four starts, “Hollywood” has only finished in the top 10 once, earning a ninth-place finish during SummerFAST in 2023.
A win by Roy at any of the three facilities would be his first Super DIRTcar Series win.
Freeze Warning: Friesen has entered four points-paying events in 2025, so far, and won three.
The Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON driver will be at Cornwall and Mohawk this weekend, two places where he’s already found Victory Lane with the Super DIRTcar Series.
He won at both Cornwall and Mohawk in 2016 and scored DIRTcar 358 Modified Series wins at the two tracks in 2004, driving the Madsen Motorsports No. 20 car.
Another win by Friesen will be his 51st career Series triumph.
Where Legends Are Made: Thursday’s Stars and Stripes Spectacular at Land of Legends will be the second time this season that many Super DIRTcar Series drivers get to race on their home turf.
Along with Williamson and Sheppard, Alex Payne, Peter Britten, and Marcus Dinkins also call the Ontario County track home on Saturday nights. Erick Rudolph has also made four out of five starts during weekly action this season.
Payne and Rudolph are battling for third in the Series points standings, separated by three points entering Cornwall. While both drivers are searching for their first Series win at Land of Legends, they’re no strangers to Victory Lane. Rudolph has 15 Feature wins at the track, while Payne, from Hopewell, NY, has four.
Both drivers have three top fives at the 1/2-mile track this season.
Britten, meanwhile, is the most recent winner at Land of Legends, driving Rich Scagliotta’s No. 8 car to Victory Lane two weeks ago. Like Rudolph, the Brisbane, QLD driver is a 15-time winner at Land of Legends but doesn’t have a Series victory there.
A trip to Canandaigua also means the return of three-time track champion Justin Haers to Super DIRTcar Series competition on Thursday. The last time we saw the Phelps, NY driver was at Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals, where he earned a top-five and three top 10s and finished fifth in the week-long points standings.
“T-Bone” is searching for his fourth career Series win, but first at Land of Legends.
