The 2025 season was another edge-of-your-seat 30-race campaign for the Super DIRTcar Series, with 13 different winners reaching Victory Lane.

Among those winners were Series champions, Series veterans, and three first-time winners, creating memorable moments.

However, while those moments were countless, five races throughout the season stood out more than others.

Here’s a look at the top five races of the 2025 season:

5. Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals Finale, Feb. 15
Volusia Speedway Park

Entering the final night of Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park, Matt Sheppard, Alex Yankowski, and Peter Britten made it three different winners on three consecutive nights. And that trend didn’t change during the last night of action in the Sunshine State.

While Larry Wight was looking for redemption after losing out on a win in 2024, Erick Rudolph was searching for his first DIRTcar Nationals win after starting 11th. It didn’t take the Ransomville, NY driver long to grab a podium spot, reaching third by Lap 20.

Rudolph only needed five more laps to get to the lead, as he snuck by Rick Laubach and Wight, dominating the final 25 laps to earn his first Volusia win in 37 starts.

4. R.D. Hutchinson Memorial, Sept. 5
Can-Am Speedway

A late-night clash delivered a thrilling event at Can-Am Speedway in the second annual R.D. Hutchinson Memorial. Wight and Jimmy Phelps traded the lead in the early portion of the 67-lap Feature, with Yankowski charging to the front behind them.

Yankowski caught the two drivers and wrestled the lead away from Phelps. However, it didn’t last long as Wight then made his own charge to the front. He couldn’t shake Yankowski, though. When Wight caught the tail of the field on Lap 40, Yankowski closed back in and the two dueled again for the lead.

During their fender-to-fender battle, Wight hopped Yankowski’s right rear tire, taking him out of contention.

While it seemed like Yankowski was in the clear, Alex Payne charged to the front in the final laps, pulling even with the No. 84Y with two laps to go. That’s as close as Payne would get, though, as Yankowski went on to score his second Series win of 2025.

3. King of the North Night 2, July 29
Autodrome Drummond

For the second straight season, the final night of King of the North at Autodrome Drummond came down to the final five laps, with a similar result.

Williamson, the 2025 Super DIRTcar Series champion, dominated through the race’s first 65 laps. However, Sheppard was methodically working his way through the field, picking off cars one by one from his eighth starting position.

Matt Sheppard pulled into second on Lap 51, setting his sights on his fiercest Series rival. Once Williamson got into traffic, Sheppard saw his chance to strike. “Super Matt” switched lanes on the backstretch and slid in front of Williamson to take the lead in Turn 4 on Lap 71. That was all Sheppard needed to score his ninth Autodrome Drummond victory and 101st Series triumph.

2. Delaware Diamond 75, Nov. 1
Georgetown Speedway

For the first time since 2008, the Super DIRTcar Series roared into Georgetown for a battle that wasn’t settled until the race’s final laps.

Tim Sears Jr. led the opening lap of the 75-lap Feature, but it wasn’t long before Payne settled into second, getting by Rudolph on Lap 13.

From there, it was a back-and-forth battle on restarts for the next 20 laps, before Payne slid in front of Sears for the lead on Lap 36. Sears returned the favor, though, driving around the outside of Payne to reclaim the lead on Lap 53.

Sears caught heavy lap traffic with six laps to go, giving Payne another chance at a victory. After a failed attempt on Lap 70, Payne had one more shot coming to the white flag. Payne entered Turn 3 on the bottom, with Sears on the outside. But as they exited Turn 4, Payne slid up the track, making contact with Sears, allowing him to take the lead.

From there, Payne held on to score the $12,075 victory.

  1. 1. SummerFAST, Aug. 18
    Brewerton Speedway

The top race of the 2025 season happened at the “D-Shaped Dirt Demon,” where a hometown driver finally scored his first career Super DIRTcar Series victory.

Britten led the early portion of the SummerFAST stop at Brewerton Speedway, trying to earn his second win on as many nights. But behind him, Sears,  the reigning Brewerton track champion, worked his way through the field, taking over fourth on Lap 23 after starting eighth.

However, Sears had to bide his time, as Britten and Phelps traded the lead for five consecutive circuits. Phelps tried to get away, but Britten snuck by the No. 98H again, and cleared a lane for Sears to follow him into second.

The two drivers battled before Yankowski made it a three-car battle, going three-wide for the lead with 30 laps to go. That was just before the race’s final restart, though, where “Timmer” rolled the top to take the lead and never looked back to earn his first Super DIRTcar Series triumph.
