{"id":8013,"date":"2020-07-22T18:22:05","date_gmt":"2020-07-22T18:22:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/superdirtcarseries.com\/?p=8013"},"modified":"2020-07-22T18:22:05","modified_gmt":"2020-07-22T18:22:05","slug":"covid-19-restrictions-force-cancelation-of-super-dirtcar-series-battle-on-the-midway-at-orange-county-fair-speedway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/superdirtcarseries.com\/news\/covid-19-restrictions-force-cancelation-of-super-dirtcar-series-battle-on-the-midway-at-orange-county-fair-speedway\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 Restrictions Force Cancelation of Super DIRTcar Series \u2018Battle on the Midway\u2019 at Orange County Fair Speedway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">MIDDLETOWN, NY &#8211; Super DIRTcar Series and Orange County Fair Speedway management have agreed to cancel the Tuesday, July 28 \u201cBattle on the Midway\u201d Series race due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Both organizations are looking forward to getting back on track with the Eastern States 200 on Sunday, Oct. 25.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOrange County promoter Brett Hearn went into great detail and time in an attempt to make the Super DIRTcar Series event work at Orange County,\u201d Super DIRTcar Series Director Dean Reynolds said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cUnfortunately with New York State restrictions, and now with the track having to hold off on the drive-In section, we both felt best to cancel the show and move the focus to Eastern States Weekend.\u00a0 Brett still wants to give the DIRTcar Big Blocks a show on the July 28 date and is looking to put together another type of program to give the gang a race to run.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Orange County\u2019s return to weekly DIRTcar action plus the Eastern States 200 coming back to the Series schedule created a lot of buzz around the Middletown oval.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe are all very disappointed. Orange County is my home track where my dad and I grew up watching racing. I saw Brett Hearn\u2019s first race!\u201d Reynolds said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAnd I can tell how much Brett is disappointed as he followed the Series for so many years. He loves the Series and really wanted to have this event in his first year at the promotional helm.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds kick off their return to racing on Wednesday, July 29th at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park in Swedesboro, New Jersey.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Check SuperDIRTcarSeries.com for further schedule updates.
