100 laps at Sharon Tuesday, $10,000 Oswego Qualifier on the line Wednesday, Invitational with NASCAR Truck Series Thursday

The Super DIRTcar Series returns to Ohio. First, the Big Blocks run Sharon Speedway on Tuesday, July 30 for a 100-lap rumble. Then the Series heads a little farther West to the mighty Eldora Speedway high banks for a two-day show alongside the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series on Wednesday, July 31 and Thursday, August 1.

Fan-favorite Batman, Peter Britten has fond memories of Sharon Speedway as that is where he picked up his first Super DIRTcar Series win. After capturing a second-place at Autodrome Granby, can Britten will look to keep up the momentum throughout the Western swing.

On Wednesday, the Eldora Dirt Derby 100 hands out $10,000 for the winner as well as a guaranteed start in this year’s NAPA Super DIRT Week XLVIII Billy Whittaker Cars 200. Who will be next on the list of guaranteed starters? The Championship battle is hot with Matt Sheppard, Larry Wight, Erick Rudolph, and more battling for every point in every race.

Then on Thursday, the Big Block Modifieds get back up on the world-famous half-mile for a 20-lap Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Invitational. The $2,000-to-win Feature race will take place before the 150-lap Truck Series race.

A great list of drivers has already been confirmed for the 20-lap Invitational. Championship contenders Mat Williamson, Erick Rudolph, Jimmy Phelps, Danny Johnson, and Ryan Godown plan to put on a show in front of the massive Eldora crowd.

Young guns and wily veterans Demetrios Drellos, Jack Lehner, Rusty Smith, Marcus Dinkins, and Paul St-Sauveur will also make the start in the 20-lap dash.

Three drivers will qualify for the Invitational from the Sharon Speedway race on Tuesday, July 30. An additional five spots are up for grabs in the $10,000-to-win NAPA Super DIRT Week XLVIII Qualifier on Wednesday, July 31.

Wednesday’s 100-lap Feature will award the fifth guaranteed start for this year’s Billy Whittaker Cars 200. It’s a relief for drivers to know they have qualified going into that high-pressure weekend. There is always a chance of a dark horse picking up the guaranteed start too so there are plenty of stories to watch at the qualifiers.

Be sure to tune into Tuesday and Wednesday’s races on FloRacing if you can’t make it to the track.
