WEEDSPORT, N.Y. — Sept. 4, 2017 — Matt Sheppard gets back into Victory Lane during the Labor Day 100 at Weedsport Speedway. Sheppard survived a late race onset from driver of the No. 44 Stewart Friesen to pick up his seventh Super DIRTcar Series win of the season. This win marks his second consecutive Labor Day 100. WEST LEBANON, NY – August 31 2017 – All it took for Brett Hearn to end his Super DIRTcar Series winless streak was a trip home. The Sussex, N.J., dominated the Mr. Dirt Track USA feature at the Lebanon Valley Speedway for his 121st career series win and his first since August, 23, 2015 at the Cornwall Motor Speedway. OHSWEKEN, ON, CAN – August 24, 2017 – The first 49 laps of the Triple Crown Showdown were a side-by-side battle between polesitter Larry Wight and front row starter Chad Brachmann, but the final 25 laps were all Matt Sheppard. The reigning Super DIRTcar Series champion took the lead from Brachmann on lap 50 following a restart and couldn’t be stopped on the way to his fifth straight Series victory on Thursday night. Brachmann finished second after winning the inaugural event in 2015. Pat Ward was the KSE Hard Charger driving from 13th to complete the podium in third.

MERRITTVILLE, ON, CAN – August 9, 2017 – Matt Sheppard drove past Gary Lindberg in the outside lane following a lap 81 restart to take the lead on lap 85 and then paced the final 16 laps to win his second straight Bob St. Amand Memorial 100 at Merrittville Speedway on Wednesday night. The victory was also his fourth straight with the Super DIRTcar Series and second in as many nights. Lindberg, a Merrittville weekly 358 (Small Block) Modified regular, gave everything he had to keep pace with Sheppard, but came up 1.203 seconds short. Billy Decker finished third, his second straight podium finish.

RANSOMVILLE, NY – August 8, 2017 – Matt Sheppard was the third and final leader after he took the point position from Billy Decker on lap 49 and led the remaining 52 laps to win his third straight Super DIRTcar Series race in the 33rd Summer Nationals at Ransomville Speedway. It was Sheppard’s first career Series win at Ransomville and prevented rival Stewart Friesen from winning his third straight Summer Nationals at his home track. Billy Decker threw everything he had at Sheppard to try and retake the lead following a restart with five laps to go, but fell 0.923 seconds short of a victory. Decker did manage to hold off a late challenge from Larry Wight to extend his point lead, which was just two markers entering the event. Ransomville regular Erick Rudolph and Friesen rounded out the top-five.

DRUMMONDVILLE, QC, CAN – July 26, 2017 – The Super DIRTcar Series regular went to battle with the top local runners of Autodrome Drummond as the Series wrapped up its first swing through Quebec in 2017. Matt Sheppard brought out the broom as he won at Autodrome Drummond to complete the sweep. The other two steps of the podium at Drummond were occupied by local talents Steve Bernier and Steve Bernard.

GRANBY, QC, CAN – July 25, 2017 – In front of a packed house and clear skies, the Super DIRTcar Series started a successful Quebec swing at Autodrome Granby as Matt Sheppard had a dominant run to get his second win of the season on the tour. Sheppard held off Pat Ward and Brett Hearn to score the victory while Peter Britten and Larry Wight rounded out the top-five.

HARTFORD, OH – July 20, 2017 – Peter Britten drove from the 20th starting position and then used a slidejob in turns three and four to take the lead from Matt Sheppard following a lap 54 restart. The Brisbane, Queensland, Australia native led the final 46 laps and held off Stewart Friesen on a restart with 12 laps to go to earn the first Super DIRTcar Series win of his career in the Buckeye Ground Pounder 100 at Sharon Speedway. Erick Rudolph made a late pass with three laps to go to take second from Friesen. Billy Decker claimed a fourth-place finish after failing to transfer through his heat race and winning the second Last Chance Qualifier. Pat Ward claimed the final spot inside the top-five after starting 11th.

ROSSBURG, OH – July 19, 2017 – Billy Whittaker started on the pole and drove the cushion to perfection on his way to victory in the Super DIRTcar Series All-Star Showdown at Eldora Speedway on Wednesday night. While it was a non-points race, it was Whittaker’s first Feature win of any kind with the Series. Whittaker built a sizable lead that Brett Hearn and Billy Decker tried to erase, but fell about five car lengths short. Max McLaughlin and Mat Williamson rounded out the top-five. The All-Star Showdown featured the Super DIRTcar Series full-time drivers and the top-six non-regular finishers from the July 18 full points event.

ROSSBURG, OH – July 18, 2017 – Billy Decker started on the pole and dominated all 75 laps on a very fast Eldora Speedway to win the Tuesday Night Tailgate. Decker had to outrun second-starting Pat Ward on a number of mid-race restarts and a final one with 12 laps to go in order to earn his Series-leading third victory of the season. Ward had to be strong in his own right to hold off Matt Sheppard who survived a furious and chaotic battle inside the top-five to claim the final spot on the podium. Brett Hearn and Peter Britten rounded out the top-five.
