Tomkins Makes Last Lap Stunner at Weedsport
Captures his first Super DIRTcar Series victory since 2008

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. - Aug. 9, 2016 - Just when everyone thought the race was over it was Gary Tomkins who made a last lap pass over Erick Rudolph to capture the Super DIRTcar Series Hall of Fame 100 at Weedsport Speedway and take home the $10,000 paycheck.
"That last restart the tires didn't feel right so I went to the bottom, got my rhythm back and caught back up to Erick," Tomkins said in victory lane. "I stuck it into one that one time and it stuck and I thought 'oh boy here we go.' I thought maybe if Erick gave me room on the front stretch we could do it and he did."

Friesen Rebounds at Ransomville
Takes Home Summer Nationals Victory

RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. - Aug 2, 2016 - Stewart Friesen keeps it in the family once again as he captured the Super DIRTcar Series Summer Nationals at Ransomville Speedway Tuesday night for the second year in a row. Friesen's night started off on a bad note as he damaged his car in time trials and was forced to bring out his back-up car. Captures fourth Bob St. Amand Sr. Memorial title

THOROLD, ONT. - Aug 1, 2016 - 'Super' Matt Sheppard from Waterloo, N.Y. took an early lead and never looked back at Merrittville Speedway Monday night for the Bob St. Amand Sr. Memorial 100-lap Super DIRTcar Series feature event.
"It mean's so much what they do here. When you walk out of here you know you're going to have a pretty good night. They worked really hard with the lap sponsors and it doesn't go unappreciated," Sheppard said about the effort put into the nights Bob St. Amand Sr. Memorial. Another Stout Performance by Super Matt Sheppard
Collects fifth Super DIRTcar Series win of the season
GRANBY, Quebec - July 27, 2016 - Matt Sheppard was victorious in Wednesday night's Lussier and Granby Chevrolet 100 at Autodrome Granby. After drawing the 11th starting spot Sheppard was able to drive his No. 9s FX Caprara to victory lane to capture his fifth Super DIRTcar Series win of the season and third career win at Autodrome Granby.
"The car was great right from the second we unloaded it tonight," Sheppard said. "It's been a great battle all season between Stew and I. Both of us have had our rough luck the past couple of weeks but it looks like we both got it turned around tonight."
When the initial green fell on the night's 100-lap feature, it was Peter Britten who jumped out to an early lead over Jimmy Phelps.

Wins first Super DIRTcar Series feature since 2008

DRUMMONDVILLE, Q.C. - July 26, 2016 - It had been eight years since Frank Cozze had seen victory lane with the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds. Cozze proved on Tuesday night at Autodrome Drummond that he still has what it takes as he came from his 19th starting position to take home the win over Larry Wight and Mike Mahaney.
"When you're 60, any win anywhere feels good," Cozze said in victory lane. "I want to thank my car owner, all of my sponsors, and all of my guys. My guys have been faithful to me for many years. I'm glad they're here for this first one. My tire guy never misses a beat and I think that's why we've been pretty consistent this year. He's on the ball. Jimmy Phelps Untouchable at Sharon Speedway
Takes home first series win of the season
HARTFORD, O.H. - July 21, 2016 - Jimmy Phelps proved that his J&B Installations, Inc. No. 98h team had what it took as he was untouchable in the return of the Super DIRTcar SeriesBig-Block Modifieds 100-lap feature at Sharon Speedway.
"I had no idea but I got nervous there in the end with all of those yellows happening with twenty to go," Phelps said in victory lane. "The tires started to cool off and I didn't know how good the guys were behind me. We started slip-sliding around there but we've been good here since we unloaded today."

Wins First Ever Big-Block Modified Race at Eldora Speedway
ROSSBURG, O.H. - July 20, 2016 - The 25-lap Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds invitational exhibition at Eldora Speedway Wednesday night saw Matt Sheppard lead the field from green to checkered to score his first ever Big-Block modified feature at the 'Big E.'
"It means a lot to win here. I mean, after last night anything that could go wrong went wrong," said Sheppard about his sixteenth place finish the night before. "Turning it around tonight just shows how great this team is and how fast this race car is."
As the special feature kicked off at the legendary half-mile, Sheppard jumped out to a sizable early lead as Brett Hearn followed in second.

Fuller fends off big field at The Big E, Captures Aspen Dental Dirt Derby 100

ROSSBURG, Ohio - July 19, 2016 - After a 10-year absence the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds returned to Eldora Speedway Tuesday night as Tim Fuller battled through the field and claimed his second series victory of the year.
For Fuller, the win was his second big-block modified victory at the historic half-mile oval in Rossburg, Ohio since 2006.
'I'm real happy," Fuller said. "We won the last modified race here in 2006 and then Tony Stewart buys it and I get to win it. It's really good - it's a very special place."

Captures fifth Super DIRTcar Series win of the season

BECHTELSVILLE, P.A. - July 14, 2016 - From green-to-checkered, it was Matt Sheppard who dominated Thursday night's Traffic Jam at Grandview Speedway and captured his fourth Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds victory of the season.
Sheppard, who started the feature on the front row with Pete Britten, jumped out to the lead early. Despite lapped traffic, Sheppard was strong from the start to finish.
Sheppard, driver of the No. 9s FX Caprara Big-Block Modified was all smiles in victory lane.

Five Mile Point is a Piece of Cake For Sheppard
Sheppard caps off his birthday with a $6,000 victory

KIRKWOOD, N.Y. - July 12, 2016 - Five different drivers captured the lead in the hard fought 66-lap main event at Five Mile Point Speedway, but it was the birthday boy Matt Sheppard who made a late race charge from his eighth starting position to secure his third Super DIRTcar Series victory of the season.
"I think we had a better car tonight than last week. This thing was just rolling tonight," said Sheppard, the current points leader and defending champion.
