Sheppard Takes Center Stage at DIRTcar Racing ‘Night of Champions’

Lebanon Valley Speedway honored as VP Racing Fuels Track of the Year

VERNON, N.Y. — Nov. 21, 2011 — More than $250,000 in point fund money and related awards were distributed on Saturday night at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino during the DIRTcar Racing “Night of Champions” celebration, an annual event honoring DIRTcar competitors and teams in the Northeast Region. After winning his second consecutive Hoosier Tire-VP Racing Fuels Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified championship in his Jeff Brownell-owned Bicknell, Matt Sheppard was also rewarded for winning the Safety-Kleen Mr. DIRTcar Big-Block Modified weekly crown. In all, Sheppard, of Waterloo, N.Y., pocketed more than $50,000 in cash and awards from the year-end DIRTcar Racing Northeast Region point fund for becoming only the sixth driver in history to win back-to-back Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified titles.

Super DIRT Week TONIGHT on SPEED at 8 p.m. Eastern

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. - Oct. 29, 2011 - It's the biggest Super DIRTcar Series event of the season and tonight it's on SPEED in a special two-hour HD broadcast. The SEF Small Engine Fuel 200 Presented by Ferris & Snapper Mowers will air at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central.

SPEED captured a day packed with excitement from the drop of the green flag through wild pit stop sequences to race for the checkered flag. Captivating interviews with competitors and their crews added to the intensity of the race and tonight’s broadcast.

Make sure to tune in at 8 p.m. Eastern for all the action from Syracuse.

Campers to Take Center Stage Wednesday Morning at Syracuse

DIRTcar 358-Modified Series set to race at Weedsport; Happy Hour practice canceled at Mile

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Oct. 4, 2011 - Wednesday's 'Happy Hour' practice scheduled as the first on-track activity for Super DIRT Week XL at the New York State Fairgrounds has been canceled, giving track crews additional time to prepare 'The Moody Mile' for racing the rest of the week during the 40 th anniversary celebration of this historic race. Saturating weather the past two days forced officials to make the change.

Campers and race car haulers will begin moving into the New York State Fairgrounds as scheduled beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday. In what is expected to be one of this year's most memorable sights, campers will caravan from Rolling Wheels Raceway Park beginning at 7 a.m. and merge by pre-assigned number with campers staged at the Fairgrounds as they enter through Gate 6 and set up their campsites around the Mile for the rest of the week.

Musco Lighting will bring Moody Mile to life for Triple 20s & Twin 20s

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. - Sept. 4, 2011 - Never before has there been so much anticipation for Friday night during Super DIRT Week. At this year's 40 th anniversary of Super DIRT Week, Musco Lighting systems will be positioned to light the New York State Fairgrounds on Oct. 7 for the DIRTcar 358-Modified Twin 20s and the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified Triple 20s.

"I wanted to see them at night, our fans wanted to see something different and exciting," said World Racing Group CEO Brian Carter. "We really wanted to do something spectacular for the 40th. It hasn't been done so there's a little bit of a wild card there. I'm excited for it."

Rain Forces Super DIRTcar Series Event to Cancel at Weedsport

Race Mania 7 Set for Sept. 9-10 at Autdrome Drummond, includes 358-Modifieds and Pro Stocks

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. - Sept. 4, 2011 - A heavy downpour forced Super DIRTcar Series and CMP Presents Weedsport Speedway officials to cancel Sunday night's 100-lap Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified Labor Day Shootout.

The series next heads to Autodrome Drummond as part of the track's Race Mania 7, which includes the DIRTcar 358-Modifieds and DIRTcar Pro Stocks on Friday, Sept. 9, and the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds on Saturday, Sept. 10.

Rain Delays Mr. DIRT Track USA to Sept. 1 at Lebanon Valley Speedway

WEST LEBANON, N.Y. - Aug. 25, 2011 - Rain Thursday night forced Super DIRTcar Series and Lebanon Valley Speedway officials to postpone the Big-Block Modified 100-lap, $17,500-to-win Mr. DIRT Track USA event to Thursday, Sept. 1.

The event schedule on Sept. 1 will remain the same, with grandstands to open at 5 p.m. and racing beginning at 6 p.m. Pit gates are set to open at 3 p.m.

Corcoran to promote race at DIRTcar’s flagship Weedsport Speedway

 Canandaigua promoter will run two events at Cayuga County, including Sept. 4 race 

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. - Aug. 18, 2011 - DIRTcar Racing has reached an agreement with Canandaigua Motorsports Park promoter Jeremie Corcoran to run two events at Weedsport Speedway, formerly known as The New Cayuga County Speedway.

The Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds will invade the historic track at the Cayuga County Fairgrounds on Sunday, Sept. 4, for a 100-lap event. Then, to help launch the 40th anniversary of Super DIRT Week, Corcoran and Weedsport Speedway will feature a DIRTcar 358-Modified Series event.

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. - June 17, 2011 - The Big-Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series invades Orange County Fair Speedway for ' The Big Show III' on Tuesday, June 21, for the third round of the 2011 tour. The spectacle will also exhibit the second round of Stewart Friesen and Tim McCreadie, as both drivers will be making their first appearance at the track since the controversial finish to last year's Eastern States Weekend.
