Series History: With an open-wheel career punctuated by consistency, Johnson's smooth driving style has garnered him five overall Hoosier Tire-VP Racing Fuels Mr. DIRTcar Big-Block Modified Championships (2006, 2002-03, 1983, 1981) spanning three decades.

DIRTcar Racing Record: The eldest of the speedy siblings from Central New York, Alan remains DIRTcar Northeast's career Big-Block Modified feature win leader, tied with Brett Hearn.

Fun Facts: His father Milt Johnson, long-time B&M Motors proprietor, previously built motors for NASCAR Modified king Richie Evans, yet Alan passed up the pavement parade for the chance to broadslide on the dirt bullrings throughout the Northeast ….. As soon as the last checkered flag flies in the fall, A.J. Slideways switches gears in the off-season and rides his snowmobile during the winter months ….. The 2006 season ended with Johnson becoming a grandfather for the first time as daughter Danielle gave birth to Mason Cruz Baye on Dec. 16.
